Haha, they started talking about how this was great for the Italians - they finally got their 1st stage victory. In the same second, Gazetta's box pop op: "Petrov, stage winner" |

Hadn't seen that one come...
Some riders lost quite some time on that climb. I'd say Ritchie Porte lost something like a minute?

It´s not really that bad for Vino to lose the maglia rosa right now... Astana isn´t really that strong to control the race for so long... But giving up more than a 5 min lead to some guys could be devastating |

Porte was something like 20 seconds behind I think.

Great confidence by Petrov though. Plenty of riders still had their rain gear on, he didnt, and his sponsors will thank him for it

Too lazy to check the GC times. Who will wear the maglia rosa tomorrow?

The word Epic gets thrown around a lot these days, but...

1. Evgeni Petrov
2. Dario Cataldo +6
3. Carlos Sastre +7
4. Bradley Wiggins +12
Something like that I think.

I can't wait untill Zoncolan and the other mountain stages to come, this Giro is already more spectacular then I thought it would be, and there's still more to come They have to ride hard to catch up with Arroyo and Tondo, I'm still not too sure about Agnoli, Kiserlovski and Porte maintaining their lead on Evans and Vinokourov. |

Let's see if any of the captains attack eachother to take 20 seconds or so?

Besides the gap, also the effort needed by the GC contenders to pull the break back in a little...that could cost them in about a week. What a crazy day. |

12'41... Losing 12'30 on Sastre today. He will be VERY dangerous now.

This has set up a potentially explosive 3rd week of this giro.
I can't wait

I'm sure arroyo is strong enough to hang on for victory, 6 minutes is a lot to gain.
