Too bad it's still no jackpot for Gesink. He's pretty much the only GC candidate that keeps attacking. At least he takes back some more second.
And for Valverde and Evans not seeing a threat in him, I really hope he takes the jersey at some point; even if it's just for a day.

It would be a major mistake to not take him seriously.

That's what they've been doing on the stage Cunego won, and again today.

What happened to Zubeldia and Valjavec? They both moved at least 10 places down in the GC..

Gesink show us today that he was strong. In the future, he will surely make good result on tdf.

What amazes me most is

22 203 HOOGERLAND, Johnny NED VAC a 02:11

And then Astana's leader:
23 31 ZUBELDIA, Haimar ESP AST a 02:18

Shock

Up until this Vuelta, Hoogerland rode in Belgian/Dutch flat or hilly/cobbled races the past 4/5 years...

Wow, this was much more boring than expected. And I'm sick of seeing non-GC riders winning the great mountain stages (e.g. Garate on Mont Ventoux).

Kazakh's sports federation vice president today at eurosport russia said that Astana is not going for GC here because they don't want to win all GT's and have so many enemies Grin

Stijn_vranken

Yeah, that guy is really discovering a hidden talent. With specific training and no more early breaks he migth be able to come back to do a top 10 here sometime.

Garmin again!!!!!

Gesink are Cunego are the strongest in the Vuelta so far. Cunego is clearly riding with minimum effort, just trying to preserve as much energy as possible. I think he can finish in the top 5, if he'll ride the Vuelta until the end. Grin

Danielson says he wished the lst climb was harder, because many of the guys in Þhe favorites group looked like they were struggling. Tomorrows mountains suit Danielson better, as they are at a higher altitude.

Valjavec caught some sort of illness the day before the rest day so he didn't feel very well even before the start of yesterdays stage. He said he is going to have trouble in the next 2 stages but maybe he could go for a stage win later on

How convenient excuse to pass mountain stages..
