THE RACE

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-60KM.jpg

The first break of the day contains four riders who have only managed to get 41s advantage at the moment, they are Kennaugh/SKY Procycling Stevenson/UK Youth, Boucher/FDJ and Vegard Stake Laengen/Team Type 1

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/046-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES%20ROUND6-PETERBOROUGH/046-PIC1_zpsc1c3a43e.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-40KM.jpg

They have been joined by Tobyn Horton/Team Raleigh and together they have managed to increase the lead to 2m43s

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/046-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES%20ROUND6-PETERBOROUGH/046-PIC2_zpsa7b7da34.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-20KM.jpg

The lead has come down to 1m 22s mainly due to the pace being set on the front of the bunch by Omega Pharma Quickstep

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/046-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES%20ROUND6-PETERBOROUGH/046-PIC3_zps7033bfe6.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-10KM.jpg

Laengen of Team Type 1 is setting a fast rhythm at the front of the break in a vain attempt to stay clear but it may all be in vain as the pack is now only 42s back

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/046-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES%20ROUND6-PETERBOROUGH/046-PIC4_zps1f529d83.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-5KM.jpg

Marcus Burghardt of BMC Racing has attacked from the peleton and gone straight past the break and into the lead on his own

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/046-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES%20ROUND6-PETERBOROUGH/046-PIC5_zps9caa2686.jpg

It's Luke Rowe of Team SKY who has the fastest finish today here in Peterborough

THE RACE

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-80KM.jpg

Fabio Calabria of Team Type 1 has decided to go clear and give himself some television time

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/047-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES%20ROUND7-CANARY%20WHARF/047-PIC1_zps2c5bb363.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-60KM.jpg

He has a 35s gap to chaser Grivell-Mellor of Rapha Condor and a further two minutes to an uninterested bunch

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/047-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES%20ROUND7-CANARY%20WHARF/047-PIC2_zps1be6218e.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-40KM.jpg

Grivell-Mellor made it across to Calabria but so did Lloyd of Metaltek-Scott and Mansell of UK Youth and together they have a lead of 2m48s

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/047-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES%20ROUND7-CANARY%20WHARF/047-PIC3_zps9b0cebe4.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-20KM.jpg

Endura Racing look like they have a plan and are all gathering at the front of the peleton

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/047-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES%20ROUND7-CANARY%20WHARF/047-PIC4_zpsb4f39ed3.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-10KM.jpg

Endura are laying down a fast pace at the front and have swept up everyone who was ahead of them whilst I try to bring the team alongside them and mess up there train

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/047-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES%20ROUND7-CANARY%20WHARF/047-PIC5_zps9549cb2b.jpg

Meanwhile a touch of wheels at the back of the pack brings down a lot of riders

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/047-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES%20ROUND7-CANARY%20WHARF/047-PIC6_zpsd9292c93.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-5KM.jpg

And with a lot of blocking and barging going on in the peleton our recognised sprinter Jure Kocjan is left way behind so we now have three guys at the front who don't possess a sprint between them

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/047-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES%20ROUND7-CANARY%20WHARF/047-PIC7_zps68cdc29c.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-1KM.jpg

Inside the final kilometre and Ian Wilkinson is leading out his Endura team mate Russell Downing

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/047-HALFORDS%20TOUR%20SERIES%20ROUND7-CANARY%20WHARF/047-PIC8_zps43583b22.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/checkeredflag1.gif

But Downing gets pipped at the line by Luke Rowe of Team Sky

krisa - The lads tried there best but unfortunately it didn't bring any rewards Frown

Ian Butler
Sad to see 3 man at the front that can't sprint Frown

sutty68
Ian Butler - I know what you mean, but Luke Rowe has won the last two races and looks like he is getting stronger Wink

TomC
Only 3 point diffrence, everything is possible now, good luck Wink

sutty68
TomC - Its still really close, pity that Orica got in front of us though Frown

PCM rulezz
Good top 10, with a little more luck everything was possible
Winners never quit, quitters never win.

It's difficult not to be happy when you're surrounded by Belgians. - Mark Cavendish

dienblad - Very true, the team will definitely get more flat suited riders for next season Wink
