But we don't want cyclocross in PCM. I'll have to get a voodoo doll of Mourey.

Mourey doing very well recently. Surprised. Not that this result was that much of one, but in the past, he hasn't really had a worthy result in road. |

Giro del Trentino - Stage 1a
1 | BOUET Maxime | AG2R La Mondiale | 2 | CERNY Josef | CCC Polsat Polkowice | | 3 | RODRIGUEZ GALINDO Michael | Team Colombia | 4 | DAL SANTO Nicola | Ceramica Flaminia - Fondriest | 5 | MOYANO Enzo Josue | Caja Rural-Seguros RGA | 6 | KOCHETKOV Pavel | Rusvelo | 7 | JANSE VAN RENSBURG Jacques | Team MTN Qhubeka | 8 | XU Gang | Champion System Pro Cycling Team | 9 | BATTAGLIN Enrico | Bardiani Valvole - CSF Inox | 10 | DUQUE Leonardo Fabio | Team Colombia |
The break of 8 riders stayed away and won by over 7 minutes! So I'm not sure how exciting this race is going to be ultimately... That said I don't see too many of these guys being able to hold 7 minutes gap with the remaining stages. They are going to be exhausted for the TT this afternoon and then there are two huge mountaintop finishes.

Bouet is a good climber, but 7 minutes could prove to be too much if the mountain stages are ridden hard, yes. I hope this helps to create a good show there.

With these stages coming up I'm not sure that it will be, given that he probably had to dig quite deep today to get the gap out that far:
That final climb is this:
I could easily see him losing 7 minutes with those two endings and that's assuming he doesn't lose a decent amount of time in the upcoming TT.

I don't think he'll lose that much in a short TTT, but I don't know what's Ag2r's line up here. 7 minutes should be enough for a decent climber like Bouet, but if the mountain stages are ridden hard he could lose way more than that.

This year's Trentino isn't as hard as usual. He should hang on provided he manages to recover from today's efforts. Question is, will he?

I doubt he loses much.
For what it's worth, Rodriguez apparently dropped Bouet (and the rest of the break) on the only climb, only to be reeled in in the decent. Maybe he'll be able to battle Bouet for the overall? |

After the TTT Cerny now leads the race - not a bad day for the 19 year old. |

Bouet and AG2R lost 1'05 to Sky.
6 minutes remain, then.

Either Bouet does a Voeckler, or he doesn't stand a chance. Still, wtf happened in that first stage o.O Hope for some good show on the following stages. |

I'm guessing everyone was looking at Astana and Sky and neither wanted to take the lead to save it for the Giro dry run TTT in the afternoon. Mind you the line ups are going to be different for the Giro anyway aren't they? |

I don't know about Astana, but if my memory serves me right (from Arvesen commentating for Eurosport during AGR) Sky will have more or less the same team. Just replace Dombrowski and Kennaugh with Henao, Uran and Puccio. |

Nah, Jozef Cerny is the obvious favourite for the win.
Seriously i have never heard about this guy.
I am looking forward to what Leo König can do there in Trentino, top10 in GC should be achievable.

So i dug out some info on Josef Cerny, who is currently in leaders jersey in Trentino
He is just 19 years old and this is his first professional season in PCT team, CCC. He was riding for small continental team Wibatech - LMGK Ziemia Brzeska in Poland last year.
I wonder how long he will be able to hold the jersey, i hope at least for tommorow. Maybe we will hear about him again somewhere in the future.
