No, I think we had a few people volunteering to do an extra report. But as Lombardia is a Monument, it will be some extra work though as we expect a preview and everything.
Don't we always expect a preview?
No.

bad news about Lombardia. my PCM14 computer is currently only able to show a black screen. I'm not sure when it will start working again. if people are waiting on me to race Lombardia, don't wait cause it might take a while.

Giro Il Lombardia is the final monument and last one day classic of the year. This race is made for the punchers who will know doubt have a say in the race on the final hills before the descent into the finishing lines. It's the teams last chance for a big win while also the possbility of making a team's or riders season.
With a lumpy 242km parcours containing five tough climbs – including the infamous, leg-screamer up Muro di Sormano – the Giro di Lombardia is anything but a quiet easing into the winter.
Riders head east out of Bergamo into the valley and follow undulating roads to the 9.6km climb of Valcava which, with an average gradient of 9 per cent and a steepest section at 17 per cent, will provide an early test of the legs.
The narrow road, with 14 bends, makes for a tricky climb – a classic of Il Lombardia – and it is immediately followed by a fast, technical descent towards Costa Valle Imagna.
Having crossed Colle Brianza and passed through the picturesque Valassina region, the riders then quite literally hit the wall – the Sormano Wall to be exact.
Reinstated last year after a 50-year absence from the route, the climb is one of the steepest in Lombardy – with Rodriguez’s ascent in little more than a record nine minutes setting him up for victory last time out.
Although just two kilometres in length, and on a recently-repaired road, the very steep, narrow climb, with sharp bends and gradients in excess of 25 per cent, will punish the peloton further.
An almost flat summit then makes way for a highly technical, twisting descent towards Nesso onto the lake road, where riders will then tackle the slightly more sedate, though no less demanding, 14 per cent slopes of the Ghisallo.
With the roads now wider, the fast, steep and often very straight descent will test the riders downhill speeds before they hit an uphill section to Ello.
Peaking with nine kilometres to go, the descent will send the riders to the finish line, where a quickfire left and then right turn must be negotiated before the leaders will sprint down the 120m-long home straight on a wide road.

Purito as he is known in the professional peloton is the current champion of Lombardy taken victory here in 2012. The Spaniard had a disappointing Vuelta pulling out on Stage 20 but has shown recovery winning a round in the Basque Country Champions headed by Euskaltel - Euskadi. The punchy climber is made for this race and past winning experience, he is my favourite for the race.
The Cannondale main man has a bit of everything, he has the ability to survive the hills shown by his Green Jersey victory at Le Tour this year, he can't match the speed of Kittel or Cavendish but with his superior sprint to the climbers they won't want to be with him in the final straight.
The current World Champion at BMC can't simply be over looked. The Belgian's massive acceleration up hill makes him a fierce competitor on every hilly route. If he comes to the finish in a group, you can also place your bets on him too.
Many top riders here including other favourites Betancur (AG2R) Giro stage winner on two occasions this year, Movistar duo Rui Costa and Valverde both love the punchy routes with a strong team behind them as all ways. Nibali here is of the Italian interest. The Giro winner has Gasparotto with him at Astana. Sky have Colombian duo here Henao and Uran showing great form at the Vuelta coming 3rd supporting Froome's victory. Dan Martin can not be forgotten, the Garmin rider won Liege in 2012 and s familiar with the terrain. Cristobal Riquelme (BEL) is an outside bet for the victory if it comes to the finish in a pack. Sammy Sánchez could surprise too for the Basque outfit.
Epic Interest
Sithembile for Sky is here, the Kenyan is built for the classics. Burton (ARG) won a stage of the Tour of Britain but only has a shot from the break as well as other riders such as Löwenherz who had success at the Eneco. Silvio Pennarossa showed great form at Chrono but will be supporting Sagan. Gorka Nieve is riding for Orica but they will be working for outsiders Weening and Albasini.

It looks good to me
For some reason I gave myself a top 10 goal here, but it will be hard with this lineup. And if Gilbert wins, we can probalby kiss our third place goodbye as well
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Very nice preview. We have a hard goal here, set by the UCI, we need a lot of luck to fullfill the winning goal, i dont say we are incapable (2-3 guys from our team can do it), but others have better chance. We will see it |

The finished preview is very good.
I'm looking forward to this as I can view as a neutral spectator again - like in all the big races (GTs and monuments) so far...

I really hope that my team makes the race as hard as possible and will use the chance of having more than one possible leader.
Which PCM will be used?
