Daggen: That's certainly how it sounded in the Norwegian TV
dienblad: Thanks
Ian:
SSJ2Luigi: Agreed, so I looked him up in the editor to see what was wrong. No injury but a form of 50 - apparently that's not quite enough for the Tour...
sutty: In deed he is. Never count Hushovd out!
Jakstar: Thanks, the break is really giving us some nice days. The yellow and the team will most likely vanish, but we will fight for both green and white!
This finish really invites the GC favourites to have a go at it and see who can be shaken.
Thor is enjoying what might very well be his last day in yellow. 9 riders are out in front with 6 minutes gap at the intermediate sprint, which means that Thor only gets to pick up another six points.
Going into the last 30 km where things starts to get rough the break has 3’30’’ to the peloton. Thomas does his best to keep up with Nibali and the Schlecks when they attack 3 km from the top of the last hill.
The only rider who manage to pull away from the peloton though is Contador.
Meanwhile Jesper is looking far from his best partly due to bad positioning further behind. Contador takes the stage and Gerrans takes yellow.

Stage 7: Vichy – Vierzon
Looks like a rather uncomplicated bunch sprint finish.
There is no doubt that the pure sprinters will get more points than Thor on a finish like this, so we let them do all the work in chasing the break.
7 km left, the break has been caught and we’re preparing for the bunch sprint. Thor puts his money on Cavendish and finds his wheel to follow in the sprint.
Very much the right wheel, but it just took too much energy for the big Norwegian to stay there without any help from his teammates.
Ian: We will certainly fight for it, but with Cavendish having both Sagan and EBH for leadout it's gonne be hard to steal many points on flat stages...
sutty: He is, but things are also very close still and all the mountains are still ahead of us. Time will tell how well he can do.
Well not quite the day we expect to shine. It will be all about limiting our losses.
Jesper Hansen is probably the rider with the most to lose today. Especially after a very disappointing first week. This is expected to be his worst day of the entire Tour and when he set off he said that he felt like crap… Edvald does brilliantly setting best provisional time.
8 seconds slower than the world champion though.
In the end Tony Martin is just a level above everyone else beating Cancellaras time by 1’26’’

Stage 9: Saint-Malo – Alencon
A mostly flat stage but the finish could prove to be a bit trickier than expected.
With 100 km to the line 8 riders have 8 minutes on the peloton.
With 40 km to go the break holds on to a gap of 3’30’’.
With 5 km to the line the break is finally caught, but the trains of Lotto Belisol and Vodafone look very messy… Löfkvist does well to deliver Thor in a decent position for the sprint, but this one is for the specialists!
With 500 m to the line five riders have equal chances to get the win. Farrar has the best legs today.
sutty: No, we knew it would be a hard day but I didn't expect them to lose this much time
krisa: Actually I was rather happy with Farrars win as well. Cavendish "lost" a lot of points in this sprint and that makes it much more likely for me to challenge his green jersey
Ian: In deed I'd say a 9th in the sprint for Hushovd is OK, but the TT was very disappointing!
As tradition bids we have called for a press conference on this the first rest day of the Tour. You all know how things are looking in the race, but we still have the mountains ahead of us.
Sponsor News
What is much more interesting is the transfer and sponsor situation. As you all know STARK have decided to pull out after this season, but don't worry: We have signed a large deal with a company, that prefers to stay secret for now, but I can promise you that they will take us flying into the future!
This have made it possible for us to approach some very interesting riders, who will strengthen the team quite a bit.
A new era for the team!
We wanted to be the locomotive of Nordic cycling pulling the others with us and lifting the whole cycling scene in the North to a new level. Therefore we will be letting quite a few riders sign new contracts. Not because they aren’t good enough to be domestiques on this team – but because they are too good to just be domestiques.
As of this year we will only extend the contracts of riders cabable of being profiles on WT-races or with enough unrealized potential to one day reach that level.
Good luck wherever you may roam Michael Færk Christensen have already made an agreement with Christina Watches – Onfone. Other riders who are reaching their best years and being allowed a chance to make a name for themselves on another team are Riber-Sellebjerg, Nybö, Haavardsholm, Lindau and Brink.
On top of that Kjell Carlström have announced his retirement and will be filling the role of head scout with responsibility for Finland from next season.
Daniel Kreutzfeldt have given the fans some great memories with his GC win in the 2012 Tour of Britain being the absolute highlight. He is capable of doing great things on continental level, but is having a hard time on the World Tour, so he should be looking for a chance to get some good results on a bit lower level.
Similarly Kasper Jebjerg is a great sprinter, but we have not been able to help him perform to the level his skills suggest he can. We have been very happy to have him and will be fearing him when he joins a team more dedicated to him.
First new signing!
This is a lot of riders leaving, but they will all be replaced by strong riders for the next season. Negotiations are still going on with most of them and the names will be revealed later on. One rider have placed his signature though:
The latest months there have been a lot of rumours regarding one particular rider. A Norwegian who is currently riding for Team Vodafone.
We have been unable to reach an agreement with Lars Petter Nordhaug, who preferred to stay in the British team. He will have to part with his good friend Edvald Boasson Hagen though. Edvald was the first name we wrote on the shortlist when the team started 3 years ago – from next season he will be riding for us!
Int. Österreich Rundfahrt Just a quick report of how things went for the team in Austria. As usual in the continental races we only requested of our riders that they made the race full of action. And they did!
Sterebo took a fine stage win from a breakaway on stage 3 – the same day as Thor won his Tour-stage!
Jeppe Lykke Hartvig Nielsen was looking quite good in the GC up till stage 6 where a massive crash in a seemingly uncomplicated finish smashed the peloton to pieces right in front of Jeppe.
Luckily Lasse Bøchman was ready to take over as GC captain and we pulled away with a 3rd place, which is very much approved.
