Complaining for a DQ to get it = VERY VERY LAME.
Can't follow your logic...the ride of Cavendish officially (not my opinion) was against the rules, so Cavendish has to be blamed and not the one who's making the complaint. But enough for that...
Let's hope for a spectacular finish and fingers crossed for Menchov, that he can finish this stage !
I love people who try to get the final word on something by posting their view and then say "enough of that" or "discussion over". Something about that annoys me. If you want the discussion to end... stop discussing it... don't go for the last word.
Cervelo filed a complaint, which was investigated and led to the DQ.
Nobody on the planet thinks Thor would have finished ahead of Cav. Cav was looking around, trying to win as slowly as possible. Thor WHINED to get the DQ... it wouldn't have happened otherwise. Was it legitimate? I think it's fair to say it was questionable. But to call attention to that in a sprint for THIRTEENTH place isn't being competitive... it's gamesmanship. It's using rules and penalties to defeat someone you can't beat on the road.
Regardless of what's happened... the end result for me is I'm not a Thor fan anymore, and he's been the sprinter I've favored in Tours for the last 5 years... mainly because he had a cool name and I liked the CA jerseys.
Now... I hope he suffers a mishap to even out for him protesting the ride of someone who clearly was going to finish ahead of him regardless in a sprint for 13th.
Holy hell man... I am sure the "Enough for that" quote was referring to the fact that this discussion belongs elsewhere as it was pointed out earlier in the thread. And fair enough you don't support Hushovd anymore I do. And I admire Cavendish for his skills in the sprints, but he is a first class twat and lacks the class of a true champion. In my oppinion anyway. |

For me it doesn't matter about which place the sprint is and rules are there to use them, because in my opinion it would be unfair the other way round. I'm just surprised in this case, that the judges gave Hushovd right and so Hushovd made everything right (out of his view) to decide the green jersey battle.

Well, I guess at this point i prefer overtly cocky (Cav) to holier-then-thou and hypocritical (Thor).
I believe Thor filed the protest NOT because it cost him one place in the standings (a 2 point swing) but because it was an opportunity to win the jersey over a rider he was scared was better by getting a 14 point swing.
I don't call that class.
At all. |

It's a pity to see Saxo pulling hard to defend Schleck. They should leave Astana do the job.
