I hope they get banned by the UCI. This is far worse then anything i EVER withnessed. Even worse than teams who doped up their riders.

Your not the only one. I'm finding it hard to believe that a team set out to raise awareness about Diabetes then treats a diabetic like that. |

Addicts will be addicts.
Did he ride any races 2 weeks ago? No, he was on his break. So he can't be suspended.

So, if I'm not mistaken this means he'll have to do jail time and that he'll be fired by QuickStep....
heh

no jail time he will have to get treatment or whatever + fined and/or community service, because they searched his house and found nothing again he is/will be classiefied as 'recreational' or 'problematic' drug user hence treatment
if they found an amount of coke at his house or whatever, then he might get classified as dealer or whatever and then you have to do jail time
and ye probably get sacked by QS, its only normal this time..

Lefévère will do all he can to keep him. It's Lefévère after all.

follow that white linke tommeke.
Seriously though, how stupid do you have to be. Boonen needs to get some help, he needed to last year though as well.

nah Lefevre will sack him now, he only kept him last time cause Boonen generates money and publicity and the big chief of QS(the sponsor, not the team) wanted Boonen to stay for that reason
If they sacked him back then it would have been like giving away the chicken with golden eggs, who eventho he did something wrong didnt breach any rules and probably gained in popularity over here after the coke thing
Now its different, now Boonen is tainted and will surely have to go

Boonen has just made an ambitious bid for "worst public relations disaster ever" with today's "I may be an alcoholic but I can assure you I'm not a cocaine addict" statement.

Actually, he said :
"A day before the check I went out and ended up on a terrace," he said. "I hung around there a little too long. Then I had a blackout. When I go out, I clearly cross a line."
