Van Goolen is GC leader. Let's see how that pans out
Wasn't he GC leader for Vuelta 08 too? Or Giro 08? I remember him captaining in a GT, but not doing well. |

It was Sastre in Vuelta 08, and I think Gustav Larsson in Giro 08 |

I think it was in the Vuelta, CrueTrue, because when I looked for him in the Giro results earlier today, he wasn't there, so I'm pretty sure it was the Vuelta.

It's as SN and Bosskardo said. He was never the leader in anything. |

Tbh i cant see van goolen in the top 20 unless he gets in a breakaway that stays away just like nicholas roche did in last years vuelta for example. Im hoping cobo has a good race though as he didnt get a look in when ricco and piepoli were there. Also he looked good in the tdf last year with his stage win Go Cobo Go!! |

Concerning Van Goolen, Riis told the media that he expect to see Nicki Sørensen do very well in the overall classement -- which is wierd if Van Goolen is the captain. |

he doesn't has what it takes to take on the italian mountains :s
prevent hangovers --> stay drunk
pozzato, basically the most stupid cyclist around

Katusha's line up is:
Pozzato, McEwen, Petrov - all three of those for definate, with the other 6 places still being fought out for by:
Pfannberger, Swift, Ignatiev, Brutt, Klimov, Eskov and Mazzanti.
Personally I think they should make Mazzanti sit this one out, as he's certainly past his best by now. For Swift to make the roster is good news, I hope he gets to ride, see if he can contend a few top 10 places on some hilly sprints.

Neither do any of the other riders in the line-up. Besides, who knows - he may be underrated |

every year in Giro a rider surprise, in my opinion, and this year it could Van Goolen.

16th (or whatever he ended up) while captaining for Sastre - not that bad.
I'm not saying he's a huge super star - but then again, did you see Vandevelde doing so well in the Tour? You never really know how good the riders are as long as they're 'just' water carriers. |

They'll still be there. Rebellin and this test is nothing to do with them. CONI will inform Rebellin, Savio will suspend him, if he admits, Savio will fire him. |
