Seems Vino is maybe on his way back.
So, is it gonna be Lance/Bertie/Levi/Kloden riding in support of their new boss next year in July?
Or can they kiss goodbye to the Tour for definite now?

That's rather heavy news. Will the sponsors force Bruyneel to let him back on the team? Very controversial!

I stumbled across this post, when browsing some dopers fora:
just thought I would add my perspective on the doping/ ethics issue.
I am a 25 yr. old elite amateur, and race at the top level every weekend, and so probably have a different perspective than most on this issue. I see a lot of back and forth and hair splitting regarding ethics. IMO, people who spend a lot of time debating this issue and advocating reform in professional sport are missing the boat. -b/c they fail to see that ethics is not really the problem as to why doping is rampant. Personally, I think there are legitimate arguments on both sides of the issue, ethically. I actually think that, by generally accepted ethical standards, doping in sport is unethical....but I dope. What the general public can never grasp is that I and other like-minded athletes(the vast majority of guys at the top) have a hunger to win that completely overpowers any ethical misgivings. To put it bluntly, a set of rules and ethics are meaningless to athletes that are as passionate and driven to win as me and others at the top level, no one can ever stop us from doing everything that is physically possible to win at the highest level and to crush our competition. Yes, it's harsh, and very few openly voice this feeling, but it's the truth. For someone to think that 50% of professional athletes are clean is beyond naive.... I know better.
Right on the spot imo |

Irrelevant. Most people will continue to think most riders are clean and ignore all evidence presented to them. I've learned that lesson several times. They'll also hates people who continuously point out evidence as to why they're wrong. |

this is why anti doping authroties have to get better...and they are. you are only as good as your regulations. You can't expect them to not cheat out of code of honor...you have to be good at regulating it.
This retroactive testing should be very very interesting. |

I've gotten so annoyed with all this riders are doped stuff that I've made a radical decision - become a pro rider, or at least, see if i can get to elite standard in the UK within 4 years. Yeah right. Bring it on. If i get there un-doped then I'll let ya all know
EDIT: Forgot to mention my lack of motivation
EDIT X2: Forgot to mention that I have the help of an ex-elite athlete to motivate me...

No Petacchi or LPR for Paris Tours. Maybe no Mitsubishi or Collstrop too. |

Maybe? I read it as definitive - they have been excluded too, because they haven't signed up for UCI's biological (blood) passport. |

Raul Alcala announces come-back
After having dissapeared for almost 14 years from the cycling scene. Raul Alcala will make his comeback in the Vuelta a Chihuaha in Mexico for some small team that particapates there (Rico-Berger or something)
I wonder when Eddy Merckx, Joop Zoetemelk and Bernard Hinault will announce their comebacks! |

Pff Waghlon, not knowing Raul Alcala.
He won the white jersey in the Tour de France in 1987 and won the Clasica San Sebastian in 1992. He finished 8th overal in the Tour de France in 1989 and 1990. and he won the Tour of Mexico three times. |
