Vuelta a la Comunitat Valenciana (stage 3)
Sagunto - Pto. Sagunt
We have tour to run named :Giro stars punctures. Yesterday was Cunego ,today it is Simoni
6 breakaway riders. Meersman is one of them. In first climb Serrano,Sladkov, Trentin hit the gas. Meersman looking this is to much for now and lot of distance is still ahead.
In next climb. Meersman feeling good and go's front to set breakaway group 2 tempo. Chase is on.
And he got away from he's two companion and look he's catching first group.Still feeling quite fresh
In next climb he already moving in front on that group and settles high pace..trying to drop some guys.
In next small hill Guido Trentin attacks..Meersman counters. And then he get himself little greedy..to trying to counter away from those guys. He get some few seconds gap..but in the end of climb he is swallon by others
Finish ..Meersman is to tyred on his counter attack to beat Serrano. Little wrong calculation ..he should win this race.
Vaitkus seems to collect prominent riders with who he finishes..this time it's Simoni.

Vuelta a la Comunitat Valenciana (stage 4)
Alzira - Alto del Campello
We got nice hill in the end today I am gonna definatly attack with Devolder in that place.
First mountain and right away first strong attack with Perez Caupio, Astraloza, Perez Sanchez, Vila, Mosquera. Those riders will be hard to catch later. I had Padronos in front to follow breakaway..be he was no able to follow so strong first attack
Next mountain and this time go's Ricco and Sella, don't need to panic yet..still lot to go
Ouch Horrach is down in decent..Caisse should consider his plans for now
Last climb...Devolder attacks. No success at first attempt.
Attempt nr.2 looking quite normal..he gonna get extra seconds what he needs.. to get hire on final GC.

Here we go..
Omloop Het Volk
I'd like to see also Gusev and Devolder to practise theyr coble skills..but they want arrived back in time of Valencia tour.
Second hill and when Boonen reaches to the top he see that 30 man strong group has gone..ladys and gentelmans we have a split.
We got Liquigas and Quickstep front of peloton to set tempo. In front group we have Predictor-Lotto, T-Mobile, Rabobank and big George and Cancellara
CSC hope is down , Cancellara has fallen in quite easy and harmless downhill section.
Most of time in front had 18 riders...and chasers had 30 riders group. Cap between to group's stays most of time about 2'00 min. At the end there was only 6 riders left:Hincapie, Klier, Burghart, Hoste, De Wocht.
After cat and mouse play Hoste atacks ...Hincapie, Burghart and most active rider in the race Weseman follows.
Sprint starts..Hincapie follows Hoste, Burghart is tyred but we cant count Wesemann out yet.
Hincapie leads..but Wesemann closing realy quicly.
Damn he's strong he comes at back and wouuhh! here he go's
Thats it..deserved win for Wesemann,Boonen 2.nd. Hoste 3.rd.

Kuurne - Bruxelles - Kuurne
Disco boys for that:
Hincapie for leader,Gusev and Devolder most decisive helpers
We have 11 sharp "church" climb to go. Decisive splitings and attacks can happen on those small coble road hills.
Tempo is set by Quickstep and Predictor -Lotto. Hincapie is realy careful in any of those hills.Devolder and Gusev is protecting him.
Next time and same mountain..looks to me that Quickstep and Lotto teams with Discovery trio is sliping away from rest of the peloton.
We got van Bon only Rabo rider who has left..attacking in flat section Boonen and Hincapie follows. This breakaway attempt doesnt work..front group comes back together.
Next church climb..Hincapie hits the gas. Only Boonen and already prety tyred Devolder can follow.
Next time same place..Hincapie go's even faster..this time he is succesful...now it's 40km. solo time.
Is this beautiful sight or what? Clear win for my team spring golden boy Hincapie. He even cathes large group of riders for lap.

I always liked to ride at cobble..this time I was surprised to get Boonen droped so easy. He's maybe not on he's peak form yet. I have learn earlyer season it's murder to follow Boonen attacks in cobble races. |
