He'll probably want to ride a TDF with the number 1 on his back |

if he was smart, he'd retire. he'll never be the leader again.

If he doesn't start as leader next year, he will at least get a free role, as F. Schleck did this year. |

Same prediction. I don't think that Sastre will retire, though. I also doubt that he'll leave as it seemed like Riis would really like to re-sign him.
He will just get a major disappointment once they reach Tour de France |

They are just the riders that resigned, Contador, Levi and others were signed through next year already, Johan said he would like to add seven more riders to the current list signed for next season:
List of 2009 Team Astana Riders (as of July 31st):
Assan Bazayev, Jani Brajkovic, Alberto Contador, Chris Horner, Maxim Iglinskiy, Roman Kireyev, Andreas Klöden, Berik Kupeshov, Levi Leipheimer, Steve Morabito, Dmitriy Muravyev, Daniel Navarro, BenjamÃn Noval, Sérgio Paulinho, Gregory Rast, Michael Schär, Tomas Vaitkus and Andrey Zeits. from the Astana Team Site |

O'Grady has signed a new contract with CSC, binding him to the team for another two years.
Following CSC riders still haven't signed a contract for 09:
Matti Breschel, Iñigo Cuesta, Matthew Goss Volodymir Gustov, Juan José Haedo, Alexandr Kolobnev, Gustav Erik Larsson, Anders Lund, Bradley McGee, Carlos Sastre.
Julich and Blaudzun will end their careers, so no reason to extend with them |
