4 years according to Cycling Weekly. Also the UCI have confirmed that no action will be taken against Boonen, but they will be monitoring the sitution.
Also QST have said they could take the fact boonen can't start in Switzerland to the CAS, but they won't. But if they did they'd win the case as the relevant documents about the drug offense hasn't been sent to Boonen or the team yet.

Well, that's a surprise. And well done by Lefevre. "Okay, we have a bad case - but look what we have here!" |

If thats the way it works then all teams should actively encourage their leading riders to party hard like Boonen And win the green jersey and p-r on the way I think thats the only reason there keeping him . if this was one of the lesser cyclers of quickstep he would have been out the same evening, if it was clear he tested positive on cocaine |

thats major bullshit. what a rider does in his private life remains private.

Yes they do actually. Simoni candy? Got him excluded.
Ullrich XTC a few years back, got him suspended
Boonen-fans are really annoying, they can't see one thing wrong with their hero and don't even see the consequences when their hero takes drugs!
Cocaine IS on the doping list of the UCI btw, so it is considered doping. Fact is, you can only get suspended if it's in competition, not out of competition, so he got lucky there. He can still get punsihed though because taking coke is ILLEGAL IN BELGIUM.

taking is isn't illegal. possession and dealing is. a great difference between that.
thats why they searched his house.
i still find it crappy that because he took coke once he isn't allowed in the tour
talking about discrimination.
and btw im not a boonen fan. im a devolder fan. big difference

They didn't do anything about him driving too fast. He hasn't broken any of the anti-doping laws. Then what is the problem with this, everything else than Boonen being stupid? |

he took a forbidden drug at a time when it wasn't forbidden, but close to it. that says a lot about his character.

Yes, and we all know that you are not allowed in the Tour if you have a character of some special kind. |

If Boonen was a minor rider or wasn't belgian, you'd be calling for his head.

Yes he can. quite easily, too. And your point is?

If I thought that just because of those two times that Boonen couldn't come around Steegmans without Steegmans slowing down, I'd be as narrow minded as all the Boonen fanboys.
