I don't know were you heard that but Phinney can't climb with the best Juniors because of his size. If he could win the Tour that would be awesome but I see it as more likely that he takes the green jersey than win the Yellow.

I dont think that at his age anyone can comment on how he is going to turn out. At such a young age there are many paths to choose. Just wonder where Phinney will go. |

Stage races for Juniors tend to be pretty flat and depend soley on TT's for the GC
at 6 foot 4 170 pounds and he being skin and bones I can't see him going over the Tour peaks with the front group contesting the GC. if he does I will be more than happy though: Another American winning the biggest bike race in the world.

Phinney just set the official Junior Pursuit record. Really he set it earlier but the UCI would not count that time because he set it on his way to winning the elite mens world cup pursuit in LA
