5 Teams Announced
Who will ride the Short Tour of France?
In the past ASO have been known to pick rubbish french teams in place of better squads. This will not be the case this year as GS Bretagne, Credit Agricole, Agritubel and Auber 93 have all been eliminated from the shortlist.
"We want this tour to be the best, and to do that we wabt the best riders. These 4 french teams submitted their dossiers to us but did not recruit any climbers, french or otherwise, so they had to go."
Australian side Qantas has been denied but Remy di Gregorio has been given a life line.
"We have told Cofidis that the only way they will ride is if they pick di Gregorio, they did of course, accept the offer"
"Selle italia? Are you mad! Why would we pick them? The same goes to Relax - Gam"
Toyota United will be another team disappointed on their missing out. "The bottom line is that although Justin England is talented, there are stronger riders available to pick."
Liquigas and DFL - Cyclingnews were the next teams to be announced as through. "We want this to be the best tour, so ultimately we want all 3 Grand Tour winners here, as well as the world champion. Zaballa is in, Vinokourov is in, so Aitor Gonzalez and Danilo di Luca are also now in."
Saunier Duval were the penultimate team to be announced, 'the famous underachiever' Iban Mayo "will provide a basque elemnt which is vital for the fans in our Pyrenees sector of the race."
So, Lampre, Panaria and Capec were desperate for the final place, and a highly talented panel was consulted. The result was 3-1 in favour of Lampre, with Capec voteless. Andrei Mizourov will instead ride for Astana. |

Gol du Galibier ~ Take 2
Attacks went but came to nothing, Yaroslav Popvych though, looked like he had got the lucky one, as with 2km to go he leads ahead of Frank Schleck.
The chase group of 6 consist of De la Fuente, Nibali, Kashechkin, Gadret and Samuel Sanchez.
Schleck closes in on Opovych as the finish aproaches.
But he cant quite do enough as Popvych hangs on to win.
Kashechkin is 3rd, with Nibali 4th and Valverde 5th.

Stage 2 - Alpe D'Huez
Michael Rasmussen and Igor Anton were active early in the stahe, chasing King of the Mountain points. They and other riders were brought back right away though, until at 4.7km to go - the decidive attack went.
Popvych is off, and Frank Schleck immediately counters, along with Bernhard Kohl and Cadel Evans.
Valverde and Moreau followed and with 1.5km they had passed al l4iders, with Ruben Plaza 7th on the road. Other riders had also attacked but the peleton had caught them - including Kashechkin, who seemed to be having a bad day. At this stage the peleton are a minute down.
So, who would win - the boookies favourite Valverde or the fans favourite Moreau.
Its Moreau! The frenchman easily outsprints Valverde.

Great. Just when I thought id had enough problems with the game, it goes and fucks up.
I cant load a Custom Tour, and I cant start a new Custom tour, even after reinstalling. |
