How much Contador lost on Froome?
Nothing.
Thanks. Could not watch today's stage. Will try to catch up later. |

Pinot loses 16 seconds through inept positioning. |

Also thinking that he lost much more energy than Froome and Contador f.e. just because of that he gone on 1km solo is plain stupid guys. Tour can't be lost this way, especially not on 2nd stage.
Great move by Nibbles. Hats off!

It was a shame Gerrans was dropped, I think if he was in the front group he would of definitely contend |

great work by Nibbles and also his teamate Fuglsang although it was a bit stupid to take yellow on the second stage
Not stupid..realistic. They wont keep it all the way..and they know it. Why not have it for records. |

People are calling him stupid: celebrating could've cost you yellow!
People are calling him stupid: you take yellow on stage 2.
Yeah, Nibali is real stupid, either way. Winning a Tour stage is just stupid
Yeah it puzzles me aswell, he just won a cracking TDF stage with a perfectly timed attack, he ended up with yellow but I doubt him and Astana would be that worried about having yellow just yet anyway and will most likely let it fall to a breakaway in the next few stages.
I do wonder sometimes if people think before they comment
Getting the yellow at TdF is not something you get everyday even if youre a GC contender and you get in very early is definitely something you would want so you should push all the way to get every second you can. He couldve binned all that great effort and make himself look like an idiot if GVA Zabel'd him. |

It might as well just be that they are being safed for harder stages. If Tinkoff Saxo don't want to put on the hurt, then there is no reason to keep all those guys in the front.
You know the biggest thing a team should do around a GC rider? protect him.
So please do explain how anyone can protect Contador if they are not near him.
Also hard stage? this is not even a real mountain stage
You basially give yourself the answer: This is not even a real mountain stage. Like Dusen said, no reason to have all your comrades up front on such narrow climbs.
Great stuff by Nibali and will be nice seeing him in yellow instead of that ugly italian jersey of his. With such an audience at the line and so much racing going on, looks like Great Britain is still a winner here too. Tour of Britain and other british races hopefully get even more boost out of this now.

Why exactly?
If Nibali goes, Sagan can't be the one to chase if wants to win the stage. He should rely on the other GC contenders to chase him. Unlucky Froome was too busy looking at his stem after he just chased Fuglsang. |

You lack knowledge mate.
GC teams are doing this all the time. No reason for every rider to fight hard to stay with the captain, when the captain doesn't need more than 1-2 riders.
And as you saw yourself, Roche and Rogers managed just fine.
Trust me. They are where they need to be when the big mountains starts.
BTW it seems very realistic that 5 riders drop. Ranging from Tosatto to a experienced cliber like Hernandez or Paulinho.
Even Majka in medio shape would last way longer than Tosatto.
I am just speechless at how much BS you can put in one post. Lack knowledge the only one here who lacks knowledge is you and are you really trying to claim that Tinkoff-saxo would have a tactic in leaving Contador all alone?
And also no Rogers and Roche didn't manage fine, it wasn't until Team Sky clearly took a lot of the tempo out.
So please dont try to be this clueless because it hurts my eyes. |

I think Nibali will lose the jersey on stage 5 since Sagan is two seconds and Sagan is a great cobbles rider so yeah.............

All he freaking needed to do is make it a bunch sprint, It didnt even matter if he won the stage. Bunch sprint = yellow jersey. |

Sagan isn't the kind of rider to think like that. He wants to win, every time.

You will feel really stupid when he has 3 team mates (maybe 4 depending on Majka's shape) with the last 25 riders on the tuff climbs
Just wait and see.

that was cracking? you'll have a blast watching the tour then
but Ian misunderstood what I meant. he already won the stage but almost lost a bonus (the yellow) by celebrating too long.

Yellow jersey is better than a stage win anyway |

It's always easy to say that afterwards. What if someone did chase Nibali and he won the stage? You can't know that in advantage... It's a gamble. It's not about being stupid, it's about taking risks. If he chases himself, he loses the race 100%. If he doesn't chase, he has a shot. |
