Friere will do well in the sprints this year but who do you think will be in contention for the hills. I like Menchov (obviously) but mayo, sastre and basso (if hes in) will be the main ones to look for. |

he's not in.
he doesn't have a team and is only waiting for CONI to confirm that his suspension will in fact be 21 months.

Astana has the strongest team with Klóden, Kashechkin and the captain Vinokourov. I think they will dominate the mountain stages, like Saunier Duval did in the Giro. Discovery also seem to have a strong team, but they have no real leader - difficult to foresee who's going to be the toughest of the team.
I do hope Sastre and and F. Schleck will be good enough to challenge the best climbers.. Go CSC! |

i think Vino will win, and his whole team will dominate in the mountains, with his team he should dominate, they could even go for a 1-2-3 imo, with Vino, Kasch and Kloden
very, very unlikley but still very possible, with their talents |

Discovery does have a defined leader! Levi!
as for Sastre, I wouldn't worry if I were you. I find he's much underrated.

We will see. I must say, though -- I'm really looking forward to see what Schleck is able to do. His brother has probably teased him a little -- and who knows, that might motivate him even more |

more preliminary squads:
AG2R:
Gadret
Moreau (who said he's going for the KOM classification)
Dessel
Stéphane Goubert
Martin Elmiger
José Luis Arrieta
Candidates for the rest of the places: Ludovic Turpin, Simon Gerrans, Sylvain Calzati, Hubert Dupont, Jean-Patrick Nazon, Yuriy Krivtsov and Alexandre Usov
I'm looking forward to what Gadret can do.
Astana:
Vinokourov
Klöden
Kashechkin
Mazzoleni
Savoldelli
Kessler
candidates for the 3 other places: Antonio Colom, Gregory Rast, Maxim Iglinsky, Serguei Ivanov, Guennadi Mikhailov and Benoît Joachim
just look at that team
T-Mobile:
Michael Rogers
Kim Kirchen
Linus Gerdemann
Patrik Sinkewitz
Marcus Burghardt
Mark Cavendish
8 guys vying for 3 spots. this is weird since Hammond had announced at the start of the season he had signed with them because he'd been promised a spot.
Caisse d'Epargne:
Alejandro Valverde
Oscar Pereiro
Vladimir Karpets
José Vicente Garcia
Xabier Zandio
Luis León Sánchez
Francisco Pérez
Florent Brard
Nicolas Portal
anyway, look for the line-up to change after the UCI teams meeting... which day is that meeting, again?

Caisse's team is pretty scary too, I think. But yes, let's see what happens on Wednesday (?) when the meeting has taken place. |

it is only preliminary, but there is hope
absolute domination by Astana is almost certain, surely they have to dominate with a team like that |

think of it like this:
of the favorites, who TTs better than Klöden and Vino? no-one.
they'll win very little on the others in TTs, but they WILL win time most likely.
that means they can afford to wait for everyone else to attack, since everyone else will have to attack
with that team, they're sure to have at least three guys there when that happens...so they can keep their cool and reel everyone in.
it's looking pretty good for them.

And luckily Vino just cant wait for the others to attack. Im pretty sure he will "yoyo" no mather what position he is in the GC |

Did you see Vino last year in the Vuelta??
He didn't "yoyo" but he showed us stability. I think Astana will win the tour with that team. Vino (Winner of the vuelta 2006), Klöden (previous second and third in the tour), Kashechkin (third in the vuelta, winner of the youth competition in the vuelta), Mazzoleni (third in the giro), savoldelli (former two times winner of the giro). Really STRONG team and I believe that they'll control it in the mountains and then Vino or Klöden will take time on the TT. |

So who do you think will win the white jersey?
I consider Contador as the best -25 rider and he will probably take it....But I really hope that Løvkvist can prove me wrong , really hope that he have developed!

I sure hope Lövkvist can show us that he's developed from just a talent... top3 in the -25 should be possible.. |
