Bianchi (finally) getting points for the 2010 teams, seems justified, he is the best driver those 3 teams ever had. still doesn't make me happy because I like Caterham more then Marussia (he should have served that penalty instead of getting time added at the end saves about 23 seconds)

Not the best race for wheel-to-wheel action but then Monaco never is. Still it provided pretty much non-stop action and some really interesting and great moments. Let's tackle some of these:
1) Rosberg and Qualifying
I wish the FOM would have showed a shot of the rear axle. I'm caught on the issue. Even with a lock up he could have made the turn, but having seen Eriksson hit the barriers there perhaps he did genuinely play it safe. Hamilton can be annoyed but its Monaco and flags should be expected.
2) Mercedes Rivalry
It was heated in Bahrain and now it's full on boiling. Rosberg has been with the team for 3 years, is comfortable and is a quick guy. He's been the number 1 ahead of Schumacher and then last year the car wasn't quick enough to challenge Vettel so it wasn't a big issues. Hamilton is used to being number 1 and controlling the team. Clearly the relationship is strained but the two have been friends for many many years. Mercedes so far look to be doing everything right to keep things controlled. Any other team and this would be a much bigger problem, but i reckon they can handle it.
3) Marussia and Bianchi
Safe to say no-one predicted that. Aided by a big list of retirements and Magnusson and Raikonnen tripping each other up. But we make our own luck and credit to the man for a great drive. Until this season Caterham were the bigger favorites to get first points but the Marussia is pretty good. The down side to this in some ways is that 10th place is now all but confirmed taking a lot of sting out of what has been a great little battle since 2010. If i were Sauber i would be getting worried because those guys are very very close behind now.
@SSJ - Marussia has Chilton, comes from the town about 10 minutes away. Caterham come from another town about 10 minutes away. Win win for me! I don't think the way his penalties worked out was unfair, the rule was not able to cope with such a situation as occurred. The punishment was deemed as 5 seconds, not 30 seconds as would have been the case if it was followed fully.
Though if he does take a proper stop/go penalty it opens the door for Caterham to move into 10th place and they can feel rather upset about that.

Wasnt a bad race actually.
Bianchi was superb but Ricciardo was mega later on in his stints. Was easily the fastest car over a long run. Unfortunately though, in both stints, he lost lots of time in the first part of his stint. |

I'm have been a Caterham fan since they started in F1 and even liked HRT better then Marussia (best looking cars on the grid imo) so that likely created some bias here.

that's the problem that red bull (especially Ricciardo) has. their race pace is most likely the fastest of all the teams but they take a long time to get to it
long story short: we got a great finale, proprobly more exiting than the whole season put together pretty much same story as the Indy 500

Time to sue Red Bull. I cannot believe this is a coincidence.
Dunno if that'd have happened with Webber around. Ricciardo is another Red Bull breed driver, so it'd make sense for Red Bull to show who rules inside RBR garage (Red Bull, not Vettel).
Bad luck aside, Ricciardo still looked as fast if not faster than Vettel. |

Finally the bad luck is on the Vettel side of the garage!
Vettel had more mechanical DNFs than Webber through 2009-2013. 8 to 5 if I count correctly. |

Yeah, but Webber had countless KERS problems during that time (2010-2013, RB had no KERS in 2009 IIRC), plus many various issues that slowed him down. |

And often when Vettel broke a new part, Webber had to give his up. I remember a front wing issue in Silverstone?

Roseburg takes Pole in Canada, Hamilton 2nd, Vettel 3rd. The Williams 4th and 5th (Bottas then Massa) and Riciardo 6th.
3rd to 6th all on 1.15.5xx's which is ridiculously close. Sets up a brilliant race for tomorrow with any luck

So according to the BBC, Rosberg deliberately flatspotted his tyres to screw over Hamilton. Right... |

Really hope these mechanical issues continue with Merc. A non Merc win this year would be quite great. Would make for a great race.

But on merit please, not because of car issues. Unless it's Hulkenberg, then i want the Mercs to explode!!!

Without car issues, I dont think anyone is going to beat Merc for a long time. Its about all I/we can hope for.
