I didn't realise Luis Leon Sanchez had dropped down to Pro Continental. Its a shame, he is a great rider.

Indeed, shame no MPCC WorldTour team could offer him a spot. I wonder why. |

This probably isnt valid but I dont see the point of doping unless it makes you very successful (Armstrong, Landis, Contador?), i see no point in doping if you are not successful due to the fact that the risks of being caught far outweigh the things that could happen if not caught.

It doesn't have to make you a superstar to make a difference, it could just boost a rider's performance to a point where he will win a new contract where he wouldn't be able to on talent alone.

I guess that would be another reason to dope.

Agreed. But why did none of them sign such a talented rider then ?

Cause they are afraid of the possibility.

What about a rider who is just a mid-range talent in their youth? They haven't got enough talent to be picked up by a WT team and are looking at a career as a domestique for a CT team with a much lower wage. If they dope they might be picked up by a WT or PCT team even as a domestique. They can be paid much better for that and have a more stable career.
I mean the fact is a lot of people can only cycle as they have poured their youth into it. If they are facing no job prospects due to a poor education then doping may be the only way to earn a wage and a shot at fame.
There is also the fact that at some points in the recent past it was impossible to even keep up with the peloton without doping. Thus domestiques were forced into it. For people like Horner it may be the case that old habits are hard to break.

What I said was a bit dumb.
This isnt the thread for doping amyway so lets return to the racing.

How can you say someone's guilty when it isn't proven though?
Take Lance Armstrong. Some of his fans still believed he didn't dope until he admitted it. That's because there was no full proof he did dope. |

cause people who accuse everybody of doping never lose
if they get caught they were right
if they don't get caught nobody talks about it anymore

Is that a way of stopping doping?
You can talk about everyone doping, be wrong and then we will never talk about the rider doping again |

That's like saying finding someone standing over a corpse with a smoking gun isn't full proof.
It's said only by people who have a desperate need to stick their fingers in their ears and force themselves to not see what's in front of them. In other words, the kind of people who saw the 2013 cycling season and said 'yep those winners are doing it pan y agua

Ok, so at what point was Luis Leon Sanchez 'standing over a corpse with a smoking gun'. No point making analogies if there isn't any sense to them... |
