Nice to see him retain the yellow jersey.

Ian Butler - Yep. I really thought he's going to get new time, but luckily he got the same one as Costa. It's going to be tough to keep it in next 2 stages. Movistar duo is going to make big troubles...
547984 - Yep , thanks.
sutty68 - Well difference between 2 of them is smaller now (since Costa won and got bonus seconds , so... Anyway, thanks.

Note - These 2 reports are going to be short, since i don't really have time and it's last 2.1 race to be reported.
Tour Mediterraneen - Stage 4 and 5
It's going to be hard to save yellow jersey in these 2 stages against Movistar duo , Costa - Quintana.
4th stage didn't pass as we planned. On last climb Quintana made move and won the stage.
More important thing was that Costa finished about 50 meters in front of Spilak, which was enough for him to take yellow jersey.
He got only 8 seconds of advantage. Only 1 day to correct that.
Next day was full of attacks. Spilak firstly tried and got big gap, around a minute, but at last 2 hills, Visconti-Quintana-Costa chased so hard, and caught him few meters before finishing line.
That was the end. Anyway, 2nd position is always good result.

Can't do much against both Costa and Quintana, 2nd is very good already!

jseadog1 - Well, small difference, but we tried everything and it was just impossible to get these 8 seconds. Anyway, 2nd is good result with this competition.
547984 - Exactly. Visconti was there aswell. Thanks!
Ian Butler - It was good one, indeed. Truth has been spoken! Thanks.

I'm really happy for you admir that everything seems to be okay with your family and it's good to see that this story will continue.
Spilak's form is definitely showing up and I'm confident that he can impress in March at the big stage races. Losing by 8 seconds is just part of the sport. Still a great performance by the team in France.

All - From this moment, new system (only WT races) starts. And just for info, i won't do monthly rankings anymore (since there's no much races, so that means i would need to do them after only few reports), but maybe each 3 months or each 6 months. I really don't like doing them , but it won't hurt 4 or twice a year.
Shonak - Thanks so much, mate. I am happy as well.
Well , it's not like he's in form. If he was , he would easily get this. It's on 4 for him now, and that's not so impressive, tbh. But his result was great, altough daily form was against us, as well.

Paris - Nice - Preview
It's time for the "race to the sun" ! As every year, PN starts with short prologue and has 8 stages. It's going to be perfect time for Rodriguez to get some kilometers before hilly classics and perfect chance for Spilak to go for GC win!
2 flat stages comes after a short prologue at the start of the race. And these 2 are only flat at this race. After that, real "race to the sun" starts. Firstly 2 hilly stages where we should expect first attacks and heating up and then 1 mountain and once again hilly stage, before last one, mountain ITT. It's definitely going to be hard as hell, but we have great team (check below) , so we're not afraid!
But like these stages aren't enough for great race, startlist is even better. It's full of some biggest names in cycling world like : Cancellara , Martin , Froome , Rodriguez , Sagan , Contador , Degenkolb , Voeckler , Sanchez ... Just awesome!
But it's not like we came here unprepared. Rodriguez, as the best guy in our team generally is our on-papre leader. Of course, he'll use this just to get his form right, so count on Spilak as real leader. Kristoff and Haller are guys for sprint. What can i say anymore? Just great squad.
So , that was all for preview of PN. See ya on race reports!

Good luck in La Course au Soleil, Purito should be able to get a top-3, if not better.

That's a loaded team Katusha is taking there.

Spilak certainly put in a brave ride in the Mediterraneen and was so unlucky not to get the win |

The squad looks like you want to get some double victories here again, both in the hilly stages as well as in the flat stages. Go Purito & Spilak... and Haller!

Selwink - As i already said in preview, he is not in form and he is only on-paper leader, so Spilak is once again our leader. That might change if Purito gets form, but it's hard to believe in that.
547984 - Well, we want every single WT point, so team is pretty strong.
sutty68 - Indeed. We tried everything , but that didn't help. Costa was just unbeatable.
Shonak - Haha , indeed. I will try to and i hopes so. And hey, don't forget Kristoff!

About monthly rankings: I do them in Gora Euskadi after Tour de Romandie and after Tour de Pologne and one at the end of the year. I think that's enough and gives a good enough overview.

Shonak - So basically after GTs? Sounds good , might even use that idea (if you're okay with it, of course).
Paris - Nice - Stage 1
A short prologue opens Paris - Nice this year. With so great TT competition, we don't have anything to search here, but we'll try not to lose too much time.
Spilak was our first guy on starting ramp, and he disappointed. At that point, he was only 4th with 6 seconds behind leader. We definitely expected more from him here. No good result for our guys, except Kristoff who honestly surprised me with good result. He even was on podium for some time.
As i said , no noticable result for our guys, so we're going to focus on race and stage favourites now.
Chavanel was first favourite to start. He easily got first position. He can definitely hope for podium here.
Phinney started right after him. American youngster tried everything, but he was 2 seconds behind French ITT champion, at the end.
Froome, who was in Top3 favourites disappointed hardly. Of course, that was somehow expected, since his focus is TdF this year, and we're few months far away from it.
And now, it was time for 2 ITT legends, Cancellara and Martin. German started first and got first position without any problems. He's 7 seconds in front of Sylvain and that's impressive on 2km ITT.
And, the last guy on start was Spartacus. Nothing impressive for him , since he finished on 2nd place, 5 seconds behind Martin.
Nice win for Martin and disappoint' result from Katusha guys. That can be short highlight of this 1st stage.

Of course, I wouldn't have said it otherwise. Basically 30th April, 31st August and the end of october. I feel like it gives a good overview of the season.
Not the best prologoue from the guys. It could be expected that Purito has no chance, but Spilak lost quite some time. I imagined him to be at least Top 20.
