Suggestions: New Riders for ManGame
jph27
Decided to do a U23 search. Don't have access to the db but I believe these guys aren't in or are at least free agents.

Ruben Fernandez - Spain - 1/3/1991
PCS: https://www.procyclingstats.com/mob/ri...?id=138963

Won Avenir this year but seems more of a puncheur than a pure climber. Pretty poor at TT and Sprinting, when maxed I would suggest around 79/80 HIL with 76/77MO.

Adam Yates - Great Britain - 7/8/1992
PCS : https://www.procyclingstats.com/mob/ri...?id=133024

Runner up in Avenir. Strong climber and also quite a good puncheur. Like his brother Simon he also has the ability to do well in reduced bunch sprints. Maxed stat suggestions: 80/81MO, 77/78 HIL and 71/72SP.

Alberto Bettiol - Italy - 29/10/1993
PCS : https://www.procyclingstats.com/mob/ri...?id=156131

4th in the Coupe des Nations plus 10th in the U23 Ronde. Think of him as the next Pozzato, good on hills and cobbles plus carrying a decent sprint. Maxed stat suggestions: 77/78COB and HIL, 75/76SP.

Fernando Orjuela - Colombia - 4/11/1991
PCS : https://www.procyclingstats.com/mob/ri...?id=140956

Colombian who was second to Herklotz in Alsace. More of a puncheur than a pure climber. Maxed stat suggestions : 76/77HIL and 74/75MO.

More to follow later Smile

Thread's gone quiet - thought I'd make a few contributions:

David Formolo - Italy 25/10/1992
https://www.procyc...de_Formolo

2nd at Valle d'Osta, 6th at l'Avenir, good placings in numerous Italian 1.2's throughout the year (regular top 10 or better). Seems to be one of the Italian favourites for a good pro career. Suggest potential of 5 or 6, starting exp of 1.00, with starting stats of order:

Fl 65 Mo 67 Hi 68 TT 62 St 67 Res 65 Rec 68 Cb 50 Sp 63 Ac 69 Fi 68 Dh 70 Pr 63.

PROPOSED CORRECTION:
Yonder Godoy in db as id 1290. Venezuela 19/04/1993
https://www.procyc...?id=168751

DoB is incorrectly listed in db, should be as above.

Stagiere for Andrioni this year, and now signed to a 3 year contract. Best result in 2013 was 10th overall at Tour of Slovakia, won the u23 national RR and TT - TT time better than senior time (Jose Alarcon)

Suggest needs an overhaul - perhaps potential of 4, exp 2.0, with starting stats altered to:

Fl 63 Mo 65 Hi 66 TT 66 St 65 Res 65 Rec 65 Cb 50 Sp 60 Ac 68 Fi 65 Dh 64 Pr 64.

Likely some more later.

Good luck with getting young talents before other richer teams

Cycleman123
Worth a shot Pfft. Is there such thing as say a PT team gets someone but then loans him to me straight away?

Yea I do believe that would be possible. Although there would be a chance that you could get them for yourself if you make deals with the other Aussie managers and teams going after Aussie riders.

jph27
However, there will be less money in the system than in previous seasons. I expect there'll be about a third as much new money as this season which should lower prices.

@jph27 - Why is that?

I'm going to throw in some more Aussies here, something I wanted to do earlier, but simply forgot Grin Not sure if those suggestions are useful, but just check and judge by yourself:

Jack Haig - - 06.09.1993 (20 years)

I know he hasn't raced pro races yet, but due to his outstanding performances in the Australian National Road Series, I thought he may be worth a shot. He also finished 3rd in the AUS NC's RR (Espoirs) and 4th in the TT.

"Haig, 20, sealed the individual honours following an unprecedented breakthrough season on the road including overall victories at the Battle on the Border and Tour of Tasmania.

In his maiden NRS season, Haig narrowly took out the series on 85 points, just two ahead of teammate and Teak Sky signed Nathan Earle (83 points).."

So as the overall winner of the NRS ahead of Earle, he looks worth a mention. He did well in both TTs and mountainous stages, so definitely going to be a decent s6age-racer.

Mark O'Brien - - 16.09.1987 (26 years)
- already in DB / ID: 5238 -

I guess he could need a little stat boost, given that he's already on XP3, if I'm not mistaken. He had a quite difficult season with Team Raleigh without many results except of finishing 17th in Circuit des Ardennes International (2.2), but did quite well the years before.

Taking out several mountainous stage-races in Australia's road series, plus finishing quite well in the NC's (12th, 13th recently) and 19th in Japan Cup 2012, I guess his MO/HI/TT-stats shouldn't be that low.

I'm pretty sure that O'Brien isn't 20 years old tsmoha. Pfft

Fixed Wink Thanks!

Yay! More Aussies which hopefully won't be swamped with interest. Better make a great application to cash in on this talent. Wink

More Aussies..

Jack Anderson - - 02.06.1987 (26 years)

Anderson finished 3rd in the National Road Series behind Haig and Earle, who will ride for Team Sky next year and ahead of some names that are already in the DB (Edmondson, Horgan, Giacoppo).

He looks strong in hilly stages (finished 3rd in the Oceanian Road Champs behind Cam Meyer and Howson) and did quite well as 7th in the hilly/mountainous Tour de Hokkaido (2.2). Hadn't too many results in his two year stint with Endura Racing, but just signed with Drapac Cycling for 2014.

I would suggest a decent Hill-stat (72-75) maybe without much potential to improve though. And a decent TT as well (7th in Australia's TT-champs this year).

Luke Davison - - 08.05.1990 (23 years)
- already in DB / ID: 6099 -

Okay, a tough choice and I know he hasn't done anything on the road in 2013 (dunno if he only focussed on Track though).

BUT he won the National Road Series in 2012, collecting 10 stage-wins in total, beating Anthony Giacoppo, who's in the DB. Davison shouldn't be as useful as Giacoppo though, but maybe a stat-boost on his SPRINT 64 ACC 68 will do? So maybe giving him a new lvl and better sprint-stats..

Bjartne
| WANG Yin Chih | 12/10/1988

Stage racer, has a couple of top 10's in east asian stage races. Made his breakthrough this year, having signed a contract with CCN Cycling Team and having jumped up a 1000 places from last years CQ ranking. Maybe 70MO,69TT

| LEE Wei Cheng | 03/07/1985

Sprinting is his strongest point and I would say he is the best sprinter in Taiwan atm, together with time trialing as his other strength apparently. 73SP,70TT is my guess for him if I were to compare with the other taiwanese already in the database

| HUNG Kun Hung | 03/07/1985

Can't show anything else than consistently strong podium placements in the two last NC RR's (current runnder-up). He should be a puncheur, probably around 72 in hill

CHOI Ki Ho | 05/05/1991
Very surprised to find this guy, by far the most talented of his country, and maybe even in whole of east asia. At the age of 22, he have already won races like Korea Tour and Tour of Thailand and ending 8th in this years edition of Tour de Taiwan, much because of his extreme TimeTrial skill. He is the reigning TT-champion after having beated Ho Ting Kwok (74TT in DB) by nearly a half minute on a 2,9km track, he has earlier won the RR as well. The biggest talent Hong Kong has seen for some years. He should have a high HI/MO-ratio as well as about 74TT I presume.

CHEUNG King Wai | 03/09/1985
Nothing like the guy above, but still the reigning RR champion after succeedingly getting in a break of 4. After lying whole day in break, he attacks and only one man managed to follow. He had no problem outsprinting him. Also a podium of Tour de Okinawa. He is a sprinter with a high level of fighter instinct. Maybe 74SP, 80FI?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have no idea what level these riders are at an international perspective, but I've looked through the stats of the riders of the same nations and maked it as realistically as possibly.

tsmoha
@bjartne: Haven't checked all of your riders, but at least Choi is already in the DB. But he deserves a boost maybe, or level him up.

Bjartne
Lol, I can't believe how I missed him as I checked every rider 3 times to avoid it. But okay, then I want to submit new stats for him instead. Thank's a lot mate! Pfft

Heine
Don't know if this has been posted already, but there is a pretty good blog for young riders, here is the start of his u-23 ABC:

https://espoirscentral.blogspot.no/201...and-a.html

jt1109
Name: Svein Tuft
Country: Canadian
Date of Birth: 09/05/1977
PCS: https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/...Svein_Tuft

Quite Possibly been through the man game maybe but there is guys older then him in the db so not sure anyway TT and Prologue specialist as i'm sure you all know

Name: Simon Lambert - Lemay
Country: Canadian
Date of Birth: 16/07/1990
PCS: https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/...bert_lemay

Rode in europe last year without a particular highlight 33rd in GP Stad Zottegem his best result, This year in the north american races he has finished 6th and 19th in stages in Elk Grove 6th on the hardest stage and 19th on the sprint stage.

jt1109
Sorry for the double post press post instead of preview by accident.

Name: Garrett Mcleod
Country: Canadian
Date of Birth: 12/05/1989
PCS: https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/...ett_Mcleod

Best results on harder hilly stages such as The Ras where he was 17th overall seems to struggle most other races but always finishes in the top 60

Name: Stuart Wight
Country: Canadian
Date of Birth: 15/04/1991
PCS: https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider....eason=2013

A rider who seems to get better on the longer stages and looking at his early career results seems to be a GC rider/attacking rider as all his best results are from breakaways.

Name: Kris Dahl
Country: Canadian
Date of Birth: 07/07/1991
PCS: https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/.../Kris_Dahl

A rider always up their in the mountains competitions, that also managed a 8th in a bunch sprint so maybe has high accelaration to win sprints on mountains and be up there in stages not really a pure climber more a breakaway rider.

Scorchio
More suggestions (caveat: I'm keen to apply for the MAN GAME in this year's intake, and envisage a South American focus, hence quite a lot of riders identified for that area Wink). Feel free to adjust as you see fit!

Camilo Andres Suarez - Colombia 18/09/1988
https://www.procyc...res-Suarez

Kicked around decent Colombian teams for half a dozen years now, usually a decent South America programme with some European racing each year. Historically has 2nd at the Canadian Nations Cup. This year won a stage at Vuelta Sur Bolivia. Generally a workhorse, but has got round in .HC stage races. Propose potential of 3, starting exp of 4.00

FL 70 Mo 65 Hi 66 TT 69 St 66 Res 65 Rec 69 Cb 50 Sp 63 Ac 67 Fi 68 Dh 70 Pr 66

César Nicolas Paredes - Colombia 05/09/1992
https://www.procyc...as_Paredes

Participated in a lot of decent 2.2 / U23 stage races this year, best result 8th at Ronde d'Isard, built on a 6th in the mountainous queen stage. Often been used as mountain domestique for team leaders -likely to move up to more protected status in 2014 as others graduate IRL. Struggled against the clock to date. Propose potential of 4, starting exp of 1.50

FL 64 Mo 69 Hi 67 TT 59 St 65 Res 67 Rec 67 Cb 50 Sp 58 Ac 70 Fi 65 Dh 65 Pr 56

Fernando Orjuela - Colombia 04/11/1991
https://www.procyc...do-Orjuela

Stand out result this year, 2nd at the Tour Alsace behind future German superstar Herklotz. Backed up with 11th at Veulta Ciclista a Leon. Appeared at Avenir for last 2 years with solid, but unspectacular results (41st and 31st). Seems to be more of a break hunter that can handle himself on the flat/in bunch more than usual out-and-out Colombian mountain goat. Propose potential of 4, exp 2.00

FL 68 Mo 67 Hi 65 TT 66 St 66 Res 70 Rec 67 Cb 50 Sp 58 Ac 68 Fi 73 Dh 66 Pr 67

Juan Villegas - Colombia 15/10/1987
https://www.procyc...n-Villegas

After not a lot to show from his 1st 3 years on the scene (2009-11), 2012 and 13 saw Villegas emerge as a competent TT rider, and bunch sprinter. 2012 Vuelta Venezuela was break out race, winning 2 stages (beating recognised Argentine Richeze both times), and 5 other top 10 finishes. Continuing in 2013, 4 top 10 placings in Tour of Brittany (and 10th overall), including winning bunch sprint behind breakaway riders. Top 10 in every stage of Vuelta Sur Bolivia to finish 5th overall, including 2nd in hilly 21km TT. Potential 4, Exp 3.0

FL 69 Mo 62 Hi 68 TT 71 St 68 Res 67 Rec 67 Cb 60 Sp 72 Ac 69 Fi 62 Dh 70 Pr 70

Last of all for today, supporting the more unusual nations represented in MG

Raul Costa Seibeb - Namibia 07/02/1992
https://www.procyc...sta-Seibeb

Not a lot of results to show, but did ride for the UCI World team at Avenir, getting round in 55th overall - getting round in the bunch on the flat and around 50th when roads went up. Just pipped in NC by Till Drobisch. Might be a useful domestique for African based MG team? Potential 4, Exp 1.00.

FL 63 Mo 65 Hi 65 TT 63 St 66 Res 65 Rec 67 Cb 50 Sp 60 Ac 68 Fi 66 Dh 67 Pr 60.
