That's neat. I'm still further left of GR though. If I gave you my college it would give everything away since I live at home and commute there. Saves a lot of money since it's just a 5 minute drive. If you looked it up you could probably figure it out.
Well that's enough of me, sorry for spamming up your story a bit. Can't wait for the race to come through will be standing by the road cheering them on.

Here we are arriving in Michigan, and we were surprised that we were on of the first teams here, until the meeting the night before the race. This race is exclusive to new teams, and the worst 7 teams from the previous year. That meant there were only 8 of us teams. This is the only race of its kind in the year, and we brought the best guy! This should be good for us.
Here is the small group at the start.
No action in the first part of this race, just the peleton riding in one group. Exciting to see my good friend Mresuperstar along the way!
Look who was spotted in the group! Bill Sullivan, the winner of the Mardi Gras Benefit race!
No battle for the sprint today, the riders just ride underneath the banner, Roosevelt happened to be up front at the time. We have BP Cycling out front pacing the group most of the race, are they seeking revenge from the big loss at Mardi Gras?
With just 60km left, the only attack of the day takes place! A rider from Phillips, and he gets a 2:00 lead with 50km left and a 3:00 lead with 40km left, he is using all his energy here!
Chase is now on with 35km left, there is a 2:45 lead with 30km left and a 1:00 lead with 10km left. The rider in the break is out of energy, he is going so slow now, nice try by him though.
He gets reeled in with 7km left, and must really have been out of energy has he finished dead last in the race today.
Just 5km left, and everyone is battling for position, each team has a train together going for the line, it was about who jumped at the right time. Unfortunately for Sunkist, Roosevelt attacked too early, he failed to finish in the Top 10. Here is the finish.
Disappointing finish, but the 1st and 2nd on the two sprints help him in the overall.

Thats all for today guys, stage 2 will be coming up next!!
In all seriousness, the race was not supposed to have just 8 teams, I thought every team would do every race. My question is, how can I edit the database so that every team will ride every race? (Every team is a "UCI World Tour" team

Yeah, I'm interested in those races as well

When I remembered saying that Roosevelt Grant would have an excellent chance at winning this race, I forgot that none of these guys have ever participated in a team time trial. They have done individual before, but never as a team. And we didn't bring our best time trial riders.
At this point, we just don't want to lose more than a minute, and we don't want to come in last place.
We get to the halfway point in last 20 seconds pack of the leading team Phillips. We were the 3rd team to go out today out of 8 teams. You can see BP Cycling behind us in this pic.
Coming to the finish line we were hoping to stay within the boundaries of a minute and at the line we were 36 seconds in last, but 5 teams still to come in.

Well, this puts a damper on things, we now have the last 8 spots overall. Grant is + 1:02 to the leader, and with flat stages the rest of the way, he will need alot of points to hopefully catch up a bit and maybe take the points jersey. We need practice in the time trial, and we will get it this year. Still first in USACL for the year though!

Good start jseadog, lots of encouraging signs at Mardi Gras especially Ramiro & Adam. Roosevelt should walk this race (no pressure ) ... Best of lcuk going forward!
Coming out of yesterday's learning experience, I sat down and thought about how inexperienced this team really is. Roosevelt is so good, but yet he doesn't have the support. By that I mean a leadout train, it failed miserable in stage 1, there wasn't even one present.
Could things change today? Here is the leader of the race Laurence Morales, also the favorite to win today.
The peleton kept a slow pace early with no attacks, and that was very fortunate for us, because just 20km in the race, Roosevelt Grant suffered a puncture to his back tire, whole in the middle of the peleton.
I had Felix Santos, who was already riding in the back of the main field, come back to pace Grant back to the peleton.
From last to first. Roosevelt came right up through the field just in time to pass the peleton and sprint to an easy sprint win, which nobody seemed to care about.
75km left, no attacks yet, and our guys are just chilling at the front of the peleton chatting about.
Suspiciously Mobistar started moving up front this early, and I knew something was odd. I found out why 5 minutes later. 2 riders launched an attack, a rider from Phillips followed, (they must be aggressive they attack every day), and Randall Fuller of Sunkist chased them closely.
They got out to a 3:40 lead with 60km left and they were approaching the last sprint of the day. 3 of the 4 attacked for it, and Mobistar got a 1,3 finish as Fuller was fast enough to get 2nd.
Randall found out that the rider from Phillips in the break, would not cooperate with the break because Mobistar had 2 riders in the break. The 2 guys from Mobistar were dead, and the other 2 still had some left. They had a 2:30 lead with 30km left, and Fuller launched an attack on the other 3. Perkins from Phillips followed right on his heels, and there were 2 left.
Shortly after this Randall ran out of energy, and for the 2nd time this race Phillips Cycling had the only rider in the break. Would this one last unlike the other? No. With 10km to go, everybody has been captured.
Remember when I said our leadout trains sucked? Well we had 5 guys at the front, and they had an unorganized train that looked worse than a group of joggers on a roadside path. Nonetheless, Roosevelt attacked and had the lead in the final 2km, but it proved to be too early, as favorite Laurence Morales cruised to a victory.

New goal for this race, I want to have a successful leadout train sometime in these last 3 days. I know we won't win overall or team standings, so the new goal is to win a stage!

Here we are at Stage 4, I gave the team the simple task of setting up a leadout train today, hopefully they can do that, and Roosevelt can get more points.
Laurence Morales, stage 3 winner and leader of the race, will start the race out front today. Can he win two stages in a row, he is the favorite for today.
Directly into the first kilometer of the race, S. Barker of Mobistar, one of the guys in the break yesterday, launches an attack! He will go out alone today.
He gets out to a quick 3:00 advantage and with 100km left he has a 4:30 lead. The peleton is just riding through the city enjoying the sights knowing they will eventually catch him and his 3:00 lead with 55km left.
In the peloton, it seems like it will be BP Cycling doing most of the work. We also have Citigroup & Sunkist doing some help up front.
We have just 30km left, and the lead is just 30 seconds. It is a sure thing that he will not make it.
Sunkist is now getting organized and setting up a train. Roosevelt is in the back, and with 10km left the pack is charging with Sunkist in the picture to win!
Getting to end, Sunkist is in first place, the train is whistling along the road, and then we look to our left, and Specialized is surging past us. We are going to slow, our guys are losing energy. Roosevelt has to go now, so he does. He started his sprint back in around 20th place with 1km left, too far back, but his speed proved that the train worked somewhat as he gets a Top 10! I wasn't surprised by who won...

Well, I guess we had an average day, we will give it another go on the next stage, see you then

The guys were at least starting to improve now, and that made me happy, we finished 9th yesterday, could we finally do better and crack the Top 5?
Another big headline today was Laurence Morales, could he become the first USACL rider to win 3 stages in a row?
Surprise, Surprise, we have an attack from the start, and its the same rider that broke from Mobistar yesterday, and he pulled away fast. Had he not attacked yesterday, I really think he would have won today.
Right in the middle of the peloton is where you found Sunkist today, a majority of them riding together catching the 3:25 break with 60km left.
Even the leading teams BP & Specialized weren't chasing, so Sunkist moved up front and did the pacing, and with 45km left the lead is 2:00.
BP Cycling finally decided to help with the chase with 20km left, the gap was 1:45, it will be another close call today.
We get to 10km left, Sunkist manages to get together and get a leadout train, going Roosevelt is in the back, still having nearly all of his energy, unfortunately he took his energy gel earlier, or he may have had that extra boost.
Roosevelt Grant could see the front of the peloton. and with 2.5km left, he leaves the train and storms up the pack, just 15 feet from the finish he is at the front... or was he?
He thought he was, until he looked ahead and saw 2 Specialized racers up front, the leader and winner of the stage Laurence Morales, in second place, his leadout man.

Thats all I have for today. Some interesting headlines include #1 seeded Team Target with 0 points still, Sunkist maintaining the lead, and Laurence Morales breaking a record with 3 straight stage wins. If he can win again tomorrow, Specialized will surge into the lead with a ton of points for winning best team, winning, points jersey, and the stage..
