Their will not be many screens for this stage guys.
We bring Maxim Iglinsky and Gasparotto(not in greatest shape yet) to spain for this classic as they hone their form before the Tour of the Basque Country.
With 40 kms to go we put Gaparotto on the front as the gap is 3'50"
1'50" is the gap to the lone escapee who is 30 seconds ahead of his ex brekaway companions.
11 kms to go and Iglinsky is forcing a selection.
Feillu is caught by Carrara of Colnago.
Carrara wins.
Iglinsky 3rd.
Fuglsang 10th,

A great race for Astana 3rd, 10th, 11th and 12th
The reason Carrara is at Colnago is when i transfed riders like Flecha, Nuyens to their new teams, i did not no you could put the riders as a free agent so Carrara i put on Colnago and when Nuyens went Garmin i took Fischer out and put him in Liquigas, same as Coilek when i had to transfer Cav etc. So i just thought id say if you wonderd why they are riding in diff teams.

The 2nd Monument awaits us today. This is the week classics fans look forward to. Was Nuyens win a fluke last year? Can Boonen win for the first time since 06? Their is plenty of chapters to be written today. The 2 big favourites are Tom Boonen 2x Ronde winner and Fabian Cancellara a 1x winner of De Ronde.
We have no goals for this race with Iglinsky preparing for the Basque country race in Spain, we are planning on fulfilling our obligations to race but we will be pulling out halfway.
The Favourites:
Cancellara:
Just won the warm up race for Flanders, he won 2 stages at De Panne, results in the classics have been good.
1st E3
1st Dwars door Vlaanderen
2nd Omloop
2nd K-B-K
3rd G-W
Tom Boonen:
Had a great season apart from E3 and Dwars he has got the bretter of Cancellara his results so far.
1st G-W
1st Omloop
1st KBK
2nd E3 Prijs
Juan Antonio Flecha:
No top 10 in G-W or E3 Prijs, 4th in Dwars door Vlaanderen but maybe he is timing his peak just right he came 2nd in De Panne.
Alessandro Ballan:
No big win but you cant count this guy out probably the 3rd biggest name in the race with regards to results, a former Ronde winner(07) and a former Wchampion. Best result so far is 4th in the Omloop, but he also could time his peak well 5h in De Panne. Came 6th in MSR also.
[b]Outsiders:
Sylvain Chavanel:
3rd in E3 Prijs and 7th in G-W dont discount this man as he has a strong team OPQS can play a 2 pronged attack.
Thor Hushovd:
With a best result of 4th at G-W, can Thor finally win a Cobbled monument? As is the case with Chavanel he has a strong team with Ballan and Gilbert.
Filippo Pozzato:
He will surely be close to the top 5, good on the hills and cobbles. Not had a great season though 9th in G-W and 8th in MSR
Peter Sagan:
Well what more can i say, only won 1 stage this season so far but with a huge future predicted by many, has a good sprint, good in the hills and getting better and better in the Cobbles.
We are underway here in Belgium
Loads of breaks keep trying to get away but still no luck. We will be pulling out halfway through.
This is the break that has got away, Zubeldia and David Lopez are in this break.
We have fulfilled our duty for participating, we are going home.
Spoiler
Tell me weather or not this was ok to do? i just thought it would be better to watch the race lol and i have a 1 in 50 mil chance of winning lol
The break was caught and we have new attackers, suprisingly Boom has decided to breakaway with 141 kms to go, Roelandts and Leukemans are in this break. So it's fairly strong.
Sagan is chasing after Turgot, Haussler and Rast.
Sagan bridged to the lead group of Boom. Their has been so many falls today, Bak and Gaudin have been on the ground already, 116 kms to go the gap is 2'16".
They have been caught with 83 kms to go.
60 kms to go and Cancellara has split the group, no BMC rider in this group they have been caught right out, they have Ballan, Hushovd and Gilbert in the 2nd group.
Down to 4, is Cancellara using too much energy on the front?, Boonen has not worked yet.
It's now back together, back to 8 riders, it keeps looking like Ballan Hushovd group will get back but it is still not happend.
Could it be back to 4 again lol on the cobbles their is certainly a heirachy, as the 4 weaker guys only come back on the flat. The riders in the background have been lapped.
Chavanel who worked his socks off bringing Boom and Sagan back earlier is now paying for his efforts, the BMC duo are sweeping him up.
BMC will breathe a sigh of relief they are back in this .
10 kms to go and it is hotting up, Ballan and Flecha on the Attack.
Cancellara makes his move.
Flecha and Boonen have work to do, Cancellara is 23 seconds up the road.
34 seconds the gap with 3 kms to go and unbelievably Boonen looks like he is settling for second.
Boonen makes his move with 900 metres to go, no stopping Cancellara though.
Cancellara is a 2x Ronde winner, he as been unstoppable today, forced the selection and finished it off 8 kms till the finish. Chapeau.
Boonen second, Flecha 3rd.
Hushovd 4th and Ballan round out the top5, surely they could have went close without doing so much work to get back to the Cancellara group.
Top 10:
Just 64 finishers today lol

The first winner was Francis Pélissier from France. The first winner of the 'modern' Tour of the Basque Country (1969) was Jacques Anquetil. The most successful rider in the Tour of the Basque Country was José Antonio González Linares, who won the race four times in 1972, 1975, 1977 and 1978.
Because the Basque Country is a mountainous area, there are hardly any flat stages, and the event's winners therefore tend to be good climbers. Most climbs in the Tour of the Basque Country are not high, but often they are quite steep.
2011 was Andreas Kloeden year, who will win this year?
This is a real important race for us we really need a good week with no illness if we want to get the big classic results. We have 2 men who aim to peak for the classics to try to get our stage wins, Iglinsky and Gasparotto. We feel Iglinsky is in the better shape (89) than Gaspa(73).
Thanks Ian, sorry I have not updated I been playing PCM 12, I re-installed it got to Paris Nice with no bugs and I get the stupid time gap bug, we done a Hilly stage Eisel was well over 29 mins down and everyone got the same time lol. I was testing it because I wold of done a story on 12 because I have a feeling when PCM 13 is out the Pcm 11 section no 1 will even look.
Today is surely where time gaps will be made, we finish on the climb of Arrate

Spoiler
Guys im gonna put all the KOTM results in a 1 spoiler box because their is so many KOTM sprints in Pais Basque is that ok? Then I can just screenshot the break and the last 20 km, stage winner etc, it will cut down my time. Because I can just pause at the end of the stage and look who won the KOTM, because I have to keep pausing lol. It will speed things up that's all
We have attacks from the off at the start.
This is the BOTD, 13 riders led by J.Hernandez who is in yet another breakaway. Levi Leipheimer also in this group.
5 minutes is the gap with 85 kms to go.
What a surprise this is, with 67 kms to go 2 AG2R riders Pozzovivo and Gadret are on the attack with Pinot, surely they will not be allowed to get away. Pinot is 2'23" down on GC but the AG2R duo are only 40 seconds down.
JVDB is also going for glory today.
This is the Pinot group they are the 2nd group on the road 1'22" behind the breakaway and 1'57" ahead of the group JVDB and TJVG and and the Peleton are 41 seconds behind JVDB group. We had a lot of our riders caught out with bad positioning, only Iglinsky and Kessiakoff in the Peleton.
This is something you don't see everyday, L.Leipheimer showing a good kick lol he wins the Intermediate sprint ahead of Kiryienka.
The Peleton is 2'24" behind Leipheimer and Kiryienka they have 39 seconds on Hernandez and the Pinot group is a further 30 seconds back. 22 kms to go.
Gadret has nearly caught the 2 in front the Peleton is 1'50" behind.
With 12 kms to go the catch as been made its now a 5 man leading group. Gadret, Pozzovivo, Pinot, Leipheimer and Kiryienka. 1'38" to the main group which is down to 30 riders we have Iglinsky in this group.
Gadret takes the Intermediate sprint on the bottom of Arrate.
We make sure Iglinsky is in a good position on the foot of Arrate, you can see the gap, can they hold on?
Schleck and Purito make viscious attacks and they are now with Gadret, we cant respond to that. We will make tempo.
Purito looks strong he is 28 seconds ahead of this Schleck group, Iglinsky is on the back.
Purito wins on Arrate.
Cunego 2nd F.Schleck 3rd.
Photo finish for 5th, Costa 5th, Iglinsky 6th and a great ride from this climbing sensation Thibaut Pinot been on the attack all day.
Top 10:
GC: Iglinsky a fine 5th we need more time on T.Martin though before ITT.
Well im really happy with that what a great stage.
Crap I just realised I dint pause and write all the KOTM results from that stage in a spoiler. Sorry guys i will do it from next stage.
We have some news on Vincenzo Nibali, he will ride the Tour de Romandie instead of Trentino and LBL. He will not be in with a great chance of winning Romandie though as since MSR he as not raced. As he as been at altitude with a few of the Giro squad, Agnoli and Kangert will join up after stage 5 they will abandon before the ITT. Vino still really wants Nibali at the TDF but we cant go back now we have told him we wont be in great shape to do a good result after the Giro.
Todays stage is a little easier today, it finishes on a hill but not as tough as Arrate and their is only 3 classified climbs before the final hill, we would love to win a stage Iglinsky is in great shape(94) Gasparotto is a worry before the Ardennes only(80) at the moment can he get good before AGR.
The favourites should come from the usual suspects, Rodriguez, Cunego and Schleck.
The BOTD has 3'25" with 90 kms to go, Cam Meyer and Peter Velits in this break.
58 kms to go the gap is 5'05".
Bertolini takes the Intermediate sprint ahead of De la Fuente and Velits.
3'24" the gap with 35 kms to go.
Gap down to 2'33" with 25 kms to go.
Jensie is stringing the Peleton out.
15 kms to go and Gustov takes the Intermediate sprint uncontested. 1'11" the gap.
Race leader J.Rod is on the attack, still 13 kms to go.
5 kms to go for Rodriguez he takes the Intermediate sprint.
Poels is taking up the chase, Iglinsky has work to do he as been caught out.
Dominant victory from Rodriguez he as took massive time, looking very strong for the classics.
F.Schleck 2nd and Cunego 3rd.
Iglinsky was disappointing 13th

Right that is enough of setting tempo, we are now going to be aggressive in the next stage we have to be if we want a good result before the ITT. Our saving grace is the fact Iglinsky will have good fitness and the ITT is hilly but surely we will lose time, we just need to limit our losses as best we can.
