Thanks.
I fixed the flag issues. I put flag instead of /flag for the Italians, so they messed up the entire format.

While Froom did excellent business in Oman, another squad of Sky riders arrived in the Algarves to participate in the Tour of the Algarves. Without many hilly and mountain stages, and an individual time trail in stage 4, this is going to be a very tough race for the Sky team to make it into the top 10 of the general standings. Nevertheless several riders have stage 3 marked. In the first stages it only matters not to loose time...

Stage 1: Faro - Albureira 199 km
Ian Boswell - Joshua Edmondson - Sergio Henao - David Lopez - Danny Pate - Kanstantsin Siutsou - Jonathan Tiernan-Locke - Rigoberto Uran
Gonçalves, Fonte, Vinhas and Siutsou escaped from the pack.
The intermediate sprint at Santa Margarida was won by Gonçalves, before Vinhas, Fonte and Siutsou. The pack followed at 4 minutes.
The intermediate sprint at Restaurante Alpendre was also taken by Gonçalves. Fonte, Vilhas and Siutsou followed. The pack was 6 minutes behind.
When it started to rain, the roads became very slippery. Gonçalves literally fell out of the leading group. He would make it back to the leaders after a long solo.
Fonte arrived first on the Subida de Bento before Siutsou and Vinhas. Gonçalves followed at 1'16", the pack followed at 6'55" and due to accidents Pozzovivo and Dupont followed at 8'59".
The attacked couldn't hold and and were caught a couple of kilometers before the finish. The pack was at some point 9 minutes behind and had to go really fast over the difficult terrain. Several riders dropped back and the pack broke in two. Most of the sprinters were unable to compete in the sprint. Cancellara took maximum advantage and took the victory. He will be difficult to beat in in the general standings. Also De Gendt dit an awesome job with third place, while Farrar sprinted to second place.

As you can see by the finish of the riders who dropped down, I needed full attention to keep Uran, Henao and Tiernan-Locke in the front group. Siutsou unfortunately dropped back as he was tired because of the breakaway. Too bad it didn't lasted to the finish... |

Although Froome has set his mind on winning the Tour de France, he appears to be already in shape. Today he relatively easily took over the leaders jersey from Contador who couldn't keep up with Rodriguez. Santambroglio, Froome and Schumacher. With one stage to go which is fairly flat, it seems that the victory will be his. It will be important in the next stage not to lose time and to keep the competition in the pack. Also Porte did well and it was a shame that he was unable to keep Kolobnev behind.

Stage 2: Lagoa - Lagoa 194 km
Ian Boswell - Joshua Edmondson - Sergio Henao - David Lopez - Danny Pate - Kanstantsin Siutsou - Jonathan Tiernan-Locke - Rigoberto Uran
After several failed attempts a breakaway was formed. Rabottini, Sousa, Livramento and Tiernan-Locke took part. Rabottini arrived first on the Marmelete before Livramento, Tiernan-Locke, Sousa and Huzarski. The pack followed at 1'27".
Huzarski arrived first on the top of the Fóia before Rabottini, Tiernan-Locke and Livramento, while Sousa dropped down. The pack followed at 5'41".
Huzarski won the intermediate sprint at Algoz before Rabottini, Livramento, Sousa and Tiernan-Locke. The pack took the Fóia calmly but is now at full speed to turn this race into a bunch finish.
The escapies were caught and in the nervous struggle for position several riders fell, breaking the pack into several parts.
In the sprint Farrar humiliated everybody else in the sprint. He took the victory with a massive lead.

Stage 6: Hawit Nagam Park - Matrah Corniche 139 km
Dario Cataldo - Joseph Dombrowksi - Chris Froome - Peter Kennaugh - Christian Knees - Vasil Kiryienka - Richie Porte - Bradley Wiggins
Bookwalter took the intermediate sprint at Quriyat before Poux, Ortiz Caro, McCauley and Hollenstein. The pack followed at 4 minutes.
Ortiz arrived first at the King of the Mountain sprint near Quriyat before Bookwalter and Hollenstein. The pack was still 4 minutes behind.
The attackers were caught just a couple of kilometers before the finish, while Rodriguez attacked. It is all hands on deck now!
Rodriguez took the intermediate sprint at Matrah Corniche with a 19" lead on Contador and Satambroglio and 44" on the pack.
Rodriguez took the stage before Schumacher while the pack followed at a distance. Rodriguez also took over the leaders jersey from Froome. A huge dissapointment for the Sky Pro Cycling team.
