I hope you dont sign an Amazing rider from the ProTour. I know its not my story but i still think that as your still in the CT next year taking a Good PT rider would be strange.
Nonetheless great story and great riding |

Don't worry Smoothie, it's all about realism B)
I am thinking about Moreau though - his stats will decrease and he is a useful CT rider...

Stage 4
The last easy day of the tour, again a sprint finish would be more than likely today.
Once more Malacarne got in a break that managed to get itself 10 strong after a lot of attacks. Kuyckx kept going for the climber points which was annoying to an extent, and with Malacarne probably going to be a minor favourite in tomorrows stage, he needed all the points he could get.
He finally took a first place over the final climb.
Once again a sprint was looming as with 20km to go, the break was caught.
Drujon was set up in a good place, in the fastest moving train, until the sprint started.
At which point he tried to get on Hutarovich's wheel again, but got stuck behind Clarke, which is a highly annoying thing to occur. As a result he only managed an 8th place with a daily form of +3 again.

Stage 5
The mightly cobbled climb features in this race, a very lumpy route combined with a cobble section for the one kilometre before the finish makes for a very interesting race.
Again we sent off Malacarne to get in a break which was let go without a worry. As with the previous day, a rider was challenging us for all the climbs, but unlike yesterday, Malacarne stood his ground and took the majority of the climbs for the team. Securing his jersey on the way.
Not a great deal else occured for the rest of the race, until the final two laps. Slowly the field thinned out due to the climbing, wind, and cobbles. Malacarne finally left behind his other breakaway companions and was riding solo, where he took the penultimate climb once more.
This, is where we decided Gaudin should attack.
So he sped up, and shot off the front on the downhill, passing a blown Malacarne on the way.
We were willing him onto victory with every breath, as no other rider followed due to a short sharp succession of downhilling and little rises. Wesemann, a favourite for the day didn't attack, and kept sitting up as he was still on domestique duty for Pollack, who had long since had enough. So, the gap stabalised at 35 seconds, and then slowly began to grow in the last 3km, up the steep part of the climb. Would he stay away?
And over the line he rolled to claim the final mountains points! And onto the line that mattered. A win for Gaudin finally! In one of the toughest races he has done.
Not only this, but of course we were interested in how Drujon was doing, as his experience was due for an increase. He didn't disappoint.

The last stage of Dunkerque, and we were in 3 jerseys. Overall, Young rider and Mountains.
With this in mind, we kept Malacarne in the pack today to help protect either Drujon or Gaudin. The pace was kept steady in the 70kph wind, until we decided we needed to start bringing that gap down.
Other teams soon agreed with us, but rather than keeping the pace steady and high, they went all out and shredded the pack into large groups.
We made sure that Gaudin was always at the front however, and tried to help keep the gaps small. It was going to happen of course, and the pack split completely in the final 20km. Luckily, for Pollack to retake the lead would require him to win the stage and 2 sprints! So with Gaudin sticking by him, he wasn't getting away.
5 riders went off the front, and the strongest soloed away from the other 4 for a classy win.

Its also annoying to point out that the leaders had as big a gap to the rest of the front group as the front group of 40 had to the main pack of 120 riders. But somehow they get given the same time.

I was going to say at this point, at least Pollack would go away with the points jersey...until Lequatre stole it on the last day
A brilliant tour for us, which sends us up to 7th overall in the continental rankings. With 4 more HC stage races coming up, Levarlet and Belkov will mature another level and start to get top 5's in those too.

The tab button hides names, and i think the button above it hides circles.
Great win in Dunkerque, your cobbled stage win was almost identical to my win there with Pliuschin in my DFL story
Drujon should start to win a bit more now with his stat increase

Thanks all, i shall get rid of the rings now i didn't know how to before!
Tour de Picardie
A sponsors goal is to get a stage win or more! here. It is going to be hard as it looks like every stage will come down to a sprint finish with some big teams here to drag breaks back in all the time. Quickstep has brought Steegmans who will be placing up there in every stage.
Our tactics will be similar to the first sponsors goal we had to achieve, where Levarlet or Brouzes will place a do or die effort in the last 10km and try to stay away.
Our rider list for this race consists of those we think could get the win, and some team mates just to protect them. We aren't too fussed about the overall this time as that will be won by some on form sprinter.
We got Brouzes in a break today, which didn't go all the way. Nor could Levarlet go all the way in his attack. He did manage to get 2 metres off the front however!
So today was down to Drujon, who got in on the quickstep train behind Weylandt and in front of Steegmans. At 3km it looks like this:
With 1km to go, it actually looked like Drujon might pull off a win, but he started to fade in the last 500m and Guidi came storming through to take the win.

Stage 2 looks more promising with the few hilly bits at the end for Levarlet to put in an attack on.
But that didn't mean we didn't send Brouzes in the long break, unfortunately, only 4 of them made the first group, so was a bit under powered, and as such was caught with 20km to go. At least Brouzes took both sprints as a compromise.
Levarlet therefore had the clear to go for the attack. However, we overestimated the severity of the hill, and so wasn't anywhere near long enough to get a good gap on, or to destroy the sprinters legs. However, his attack did manage to disrupt the front of the pack (as well as Drujons placing ops: )
So Drujon was far too far back to go for the win, but still took a nice top 10 placing.

Stage 3 is a pan flat short stage.
With no potential breakaway points we would just go for the straight out sprint win.
Malacarne really helped Drujon today as they both had + 5 daily form as he towed him back to the front where he managed to get on Steegmans wheel, knocking off Guidi in the process!
With 1km to go, Drujon was holding his 2nd place easily, so we decided to see if he could ease his way past Mondory, it didn't look like it was going to happen, but then Mondory for some unknown reason stopped then restarted sprinting with 300ms to go. So basically i got gifted a win! Not that im complaining, im really not! So with that win, Drujon finally gets his season opener and we get another sponsor goal completed!
