Hulkenberg has Ferrari ties. He's unlikely to be available
Perez also had Ferrari ties.

Good point. Like I said, unlikely....but not impossible
Besides, Pérez only went to McLaren because Ferrari let him go because they're waiting for...Hulkenberg to be ready. Or Bianchi. Or even Marciello. Whoever first reaches a level they deem acceptable. And I'd be amazed if they let Hulk go.

I heard him say that he wants to work back to F1 in the future, and that was about 2 weeks ago... Don't know whether it is possible but he is back in (almost) top level motorsport, and going well

Indeed he's been saying that since the accident, and I very dearly hope he's able to.
But the sad fact is that he doesn't have enough mobility in his right wrist to turn the wheel so he has to turn the whole arm, elbow out. A formula cockpit doesn't have room for that.
He says he believes he will one day have enough mobility again. Doctors say don't count on it.

Kubica almost won an ERC, second tier after WRC, rallye, but than crashed out, leading comfortable. In a TV interview he said he doesn't think he will be able to drive a F1 again. A pity if you consider that this year he was almost on Spenglers level, testing DTM. But he got problems with his wrists, when driving too long. At least he also said he really enjoys rallye and is happy with what doing now. |

Mind you, the crash was the co-pilot (navigator)'s mistake, not Kubica's
Said "Fast right" when it was a hairpin.

Do you mean with Button last year? I personally dont think it was that bad. Sure he was at fault, but he was trying to pass and Button and another driver kinda squeezed him.
I've always though he had pretty good talent.

Red Bull currently has:
Sébastien Buemi
Daniel Ricciardo
Jean-Eric Vergne
Antonio Félix da Costa
Carlos Sainz jr.
Callan O'Keeffe
Daniil Kvyat
Tom Blomqvist
Beitske Visser (she just joined the Red Bull Junior Program two weeks ago)
Also Frijns tested for them but he f*cked up his chances with the team.
I think for the 2014 only the first three of the list would be ready to take Webber's seat, and then Da Costa could go to Toro Rosso.

Yes, it was co-pilots fault.
In fact Kubica was more saying, that he doesn't think he will ever be back in F1, while being in his current condition. Also mentioned, rallye is the best rehabilitation program for him. So there is still a bit of hope in him. |

Superstar potential, asshat personality. Not ready for 2014.

Famous name gives them visibility, is good but nothing outstanding

This is the season we find out how good he is or isn't in cars.

Publicity stunt. She has some talent clearly, but not anywhere near enough to be on an F1 team's development programme if it wasn't for the publicity this brings and will continue to bring
He's quite right, but you can't say those things. That's the problem with Frinjs, he doesn't think. Both on and off track. Driving talent is there to be a superstar, clearly. But even at GP2 level teams are already sticking well clear of his personality.

That's the most likely, yeah

Not one of those guys could take Webbers seat! Buemi won't and Vergne just isn't good enough. Ricciardo is most likly but it would be a mistake.
And Fijns is right, unfortunately.

I have read in the newspaper this morning that almost every driver except Räikkönen avoid Vettel since his action in Malaysia. According to this it'll be difficult to find a new teammate for Vettel, but I think that a lot of drivers want to ride in a Red-Bull because they're a very good team.
Btw: Vettel and Räikkönen are "badminton buddies".
Edit: and Alguersuari?

So that Frijns guy. Is he that good? I know that he's an asshole(Vettel is one as well, so that can't stop Frijns), but can he really get to F1 in a few years, and do well(at least better than V/d Garde? )
I'm not really into F1 talents, honestly...

He's a lot better than vd Garde.
I think you could compare Frijns to Ricciardo/di Resta, but he has potential to become as good as Rosberg/Hamilton.

Nice. I probably can't stand him, but at least it's a Dutchman with some good F1 potential(that is long ago... )
