I will use this for the new season too.
Anybody saw amazing czech talent Hertl and his four goals against Rangers? The fourth one between the legs was just awesome, first player younger than 20 to score four goals since 1988. 6+1 in his first three NHL games, not bad.

So Hertl started so awesome, that he is the target every game now. First Edler with mad hit to his head (3 game suspension) and now Mc Arthur with another hit, sending him home early with slight shoulder injury. I hate when talents are hunted like animals, i dont want to see another Lindros case.

Edler may have been a bad hit, but he made full contact with his body as the point of contact. Not to mention Hertl was reaching forward, stretched out with his head down. Im sorry, but the suspension was a complete joke, just like the Kassian suspension.
I dont know about the Mac Arthur incident, but the hit from Edler was all on Hertl imo. You can't skate with your head down like that.
I think Edler plays really reckless sometimes, that hit on Staal was probably one of the dumbest things, I've seen in a while, but the hit on Hertl was hardly even that. If you look at it, he pretty much glides in the way of where Herlt is going, and thats about it.

Hitting the head should be always awarded with suspension, or we want careers ended because of concussions?
Just because Hertl is inexperienced and not used to NHL agression completely, he should have not been the target.
So i cant agree here Valv, Edler seem like pretty dumb player, not the first time he hit the head.

Here is the hit. No intention to play the puck at all. I am not saying this is massacre. or something like that, but i would like hockey more without hits like this one.

Okay Avin, heres the problem. You cant just suspend people for hits to the head. If the body is the prime point of contact then the hitter is really not at fault. That would be suspending a player that is not deserving of a suspension at all. Plus, you would end up with 2 or 3 suspensions coming out of every game.
Just because he's new he shouldn't be targeted? He's on the ice, playing the puck. Thats fair game as far as Im aware. If he can't learn to look up and see whats coming, thats his problem.
Also, about the hit, he doesn't even need to have intention to play the puck to hit him there. Its clean regardless.
Take a look at this highlight reel of Nicklas Kronwall. Similar hitting style to Edler in this case, and he's never been suspended once.
https://www.youtub...4lCdlpRFno
I am personally not a fan of the way Kronwall hits, but it is clear as glass that these suspensions are not consistent at all! You've got to wonder what would have happened if this hit wasn't on Hertl, but someone like Tommy Wingels that isn't in the spotlight right now.

Oh my, Jimmy Howard really does look rusty coming back from injury.

Dammit Bertuzzi, you have to take a penalty to end the game!

At least Helm got a good look at the end.
Crossing my fingers for Howard to bounce back for the Winter Classic.

Well at least we snagged a point there. Howard looked good, but Bernier, had over 40 saves I think.
