If that happens to be the case, then I'll aim to be the first WT African team or the first African team to have a rider on a GT podium (I have Louis Meintjes Wink )

Yep, i'd love to be in the MG next season. And yeah, i do promise to stay active. Pfft
This Names is indeed a tiny bit better. Smile
Also a very nice Jersey too, who designed it BTW?

tsmoha
Looks indeed cool! This shirt has been a long-time favorite for me in your shirt's showroom Wink Seems like you made some changes. I really like the yellow on the right shirt sleeve and the details on the whole shirt.

This is going to be an interesting project and a good shirt is always a good start Pfft

Dippofix
Wait, you made that yourself? Shock
That makes it even more impressive! Smile

Nice project, presentation and jersey. Good job!

Great job with the jersey Aidan, i will cheer for this project for sure, good luck with it! I know one rider, who feels much attracted with that south african stripe. Smile
I'll be back

Bjartne
Wow, awesome details there mate! Will be extremely interresting to follow you in the transfer window and the following season. Good luck from Asia! Smile

Gustavovskiy
Congratulations on that jersey. You can tell you put a lot of effort on producing that beauty. And I love the detailed explanation of the logos, it makes it so much more realistic. These sort of thing is what makes me never get tired of this game.

- @Dippofix: Thanks! Yea, the jersey was my work Smile

- @DubbelDekker: Thank-you Smile

- @Avin: Thanks man. I'm secretly rooting for Metinvest as well Pfft I hope that certain rider finds a spot on our team - for a decent salary though Wink

- @Bjartne: I hope we might to reach a deal doing a deal during the transfer season. Good luck to PFG from Africa Wink

- @Gustavovskiy: Appreciate the kind words, mate Smile

African Cycling Project Announces Additions to Team for 2014

African Cycling Project has announced the first additions to the squad for next season. "Surely this can't be riders as the 2014 transfer season hasn't even started?" you might ask. You aren't mistaken; the additions come in the form of 3 South African ex-professionals who will join the team as directeur sportifs (sporting directors). They will be calling the shots from the team cars, as well as providing previews or reviews of their respective races.

i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/directeurs_zps58e68ab0.png
[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/darren_zpsd6008767.png[/img-l]Darren Lill
Darren is joining the team after retiring from the pro scene. He spent most of his racing career in the USA and Australia. Darren was a very good climber, partly due to his light stature. He'll be directing the team in most of the American and mountainous stage races we are present at.

____________________________________

Tiaan Kannemeyer[img-r]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/tiaan_zps50f608ca.png[/img-r]
Tiaan retired from pro cycling a few seasons ago. He previously rode for Konica-Minolta and Barloworld, where he rode the spring classics, won SA champs and finished 3rd in Langkawi. He'll head the team in Africa/Asia and in most hilly races.

[img-l]https://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/robbie_zps3a4a25e4.png[/img-l] Robbie Hunter
Robbie is probably SA's most well-know professionals. He retired after spending his final MG season at Bianchi (now Lotto-Cervelo). Robbie is a sprinter by trade, but his tactical wit spreads across all terrains. Robbie will lead us at our important goal races and during our European/African terrains. If we happen to have problems with opponents, he'll be sure to sort it out!

Nearing the last leg of the season, I have decided to work on a report for all the races. As you may notice, there are several reports missing, so I hope to cover every race in this post. I'd like to update the victory and podiums list as well.

A great race for us. Abdallah scored some top 10s and a podium on the flat stages. Rodas surprised the favourites and won the last stage to claim 2nd overall - completing our official goal of a top 5 result.

Nothing special to report. To be honest, we were quite disappointing in our home tour, even if it was a HC race. Ngue finished in the top 20 and Abdallah managed a top 10.

We had some ups and downs in this tour. Lutsenko took the opening stage and Rodas seemed very promising podiuming on the first mountain stage. Unfortunately, he crashed and lost time and hope for a good placing overall. Ihlenfeldt at least compromised with an unexpected ride.

A race with a prologue, 7 flat stages and 1 mountain stage. Abdallah was very consistent with 4 top 10 finishes, but never managed anything extravagant. Rodas rode valiantly on the mountain stage; however, he couldn't beat a super strong Marzano, but finished an excellent 2nd on the stage and on GC. Ihlenfeldt also snuck into the top 10 on the stage even though he worked for Rodas on the climb and finished in 14th overall.

A home race for us and although it wasn't a goal race we wanted to put on a show. And that's exactly what we did! Day sprinted excellently and narrowly missed out on a stage win. Ngue rode like a champion against some of the division's best and finished 4th on the first hilly stage and which was the GC position he maintained on the mountain TT. However, on the last stage he broke away and rode like a madman to win the stage, but narrowly missed out on winning the yellow jersey and had to settle for white.

Another episode in Africa for us, but . Abdallah didn't perform much on the flat stages, but at least Lemus took his chances in the breaks and almost won a stage when the break stayed away (2nd place on stage 4). Rodas had a horrible tour after losing over 4 minutes on a flat stage and would've finished in the top 10 overall. It wasn't all doom and gloom: he finished 9th on the mountain stage against strong C1 competition.

We didn't have high expectations here, but it turned out to be a very successful race. On stage 1 Lemus got into a successful break, but narrowly missed out on the win after finishing 3rd. On the 2nd stage Ihlenfeldt attacked from far out with 2 other riders and dropped them both on the decent, putting his descending skills to good use. Niyonshuti rode strong on the other mountain stages. In the end, both Ihlenfedlt and Niyonshuti finished in the top 10.

A pan-flat race in the Netherlands with a prologue followed by 2 flat stages. Without a TT expert, Abdallah lead the team and managed to pick up a stage win (after an awesome lead out) and the points jersey - so a good race for us!

A flat American C2 race. Tyler was the 5th rider of the peleton over the line. Unfortunately, 4 other break away riders stayed away when the bunch strangely slowed in the last 10km. As a result Day finished 9th.

Nice work Aidan Smile Quite cool to look back at some of our previous race, some which I had almost forgotten about, as well as yours.

Thanks! Smile Did take quite a while. Main reason for doing it was to see how my race day selection was and where I scored the most points. This season was a learning curve. Hopefully I can learn from my mistakes.

MTN-WBR Reveals Changes for 2014 Season

MTN-WBR has recently revealed the jersey it will sport for 2014. However, after the recent death of Nelson Mandela, the team saw it fitting to compete in an all-black kit for 2014, in remembrance of Madiba. The team will also be know as "Project: Africa" as of 2014. Here is a recap of what is planned for 2014...

Sponsors for 2014
i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh579/aidanvn13/list_sponsors_zps4ddeeeea.png

2014 Jersey
The jersey has changed from the original design released earlier. This time the kit moves to a more simplified black version in remembrance of Nelson Mandela. All the "Gold" and "Silver" rated sponsors are present on the jersey together with "46664" (Nelson Mandela's prison number) and the #IRideForBurry hashtag - in remembrance of Burry Stander. The dates of their deaths are also present on the chest, left sleeve and right trouser of the jersey.

Nice idea to compete in a black jersey, eventhough it doesn't look quite as nice as the original, i have to admit. Smile
