Jerome Baugnies started April with terrific 2nd place in De Brabantsje Pijl!
Sander Armee suprised everyone taking a win on 2nd stage at Tropicale Amissa Bongo!
And with perfect teamwork thorughout the week we delivered a perfect GC win!
April has been treating our team fairly well so far with perfect performances so far in the two races we have participated. The big points from Tropicale Amissa Bongo come as big surprise, and might well prove vital at the end of season in our survival as well completing the Africa Standings goals.
A review of March will come soon, as well as more detailed review of those two races. And now let's open champagne and enjoy good times.

I think with that win you've pretty much guaranteed a mid table finish so a pre-emptive congratulations there

Thanks Well, it definitely helps a lot, those ~200 points gained might be the difference after all.
It definitely helps that Marquez can have a bad race or two, giving those points too, and his role before this race in gaining big points every race is not as vital now. Still long way too go though.

Morton's future uncertain at HTC Nieuwsblad for next year
With season slowly coming to the end news about riders future is slowly trickling to the attention of the media. News from the HTC camp is that Morton is believed to be allowed to transfer to another team for a hefty amount or a straight swap of riders. However our source states Morton could stay at HTC however negotations will take long to compete. It's very interesting since there is no news about team sponsor and if chances will occur. Patrick Lane, Olli Kulppi, Kenny Van der Schueren, Yvo Kusters, Stjn Vandenbergh and Dries Van der Ginst might be facing search for a new team as well.

Well that will be an interesting thing to follow for sure.
Dunno how hefty that amount will be considering he's only a decent 76MO domestique for at least 250k next season.
On the other hand, endure that and you'll have a 80MO guy at only 23.
In general your team will be all over the transfer season with many riders probably available for PT loans (*wink*) and I can't wait to see where your team is heading/when you'll be going for promotion.

Interesting offer jph, I will consider for the future
For sure. It will be interesting, I am not decided on him yet so we'll see For sure some of my riders would love to join WT at your team which looks likely you'll be staying in top division
About our transfer goal, we'll see what riders will be available. I might buy some youngsters again and wait another year for promotion But so far I think the key this window will be signing my number one priority - a hilly leader and possibly a decent sprinter if possible.

I would swap with Olivier immediately (sorry Daan, but just look at Avenir...) but my sponsor wants a Dutch GC leader.
And you surely won`t swap him for Westphal? Schachmann? Ariesen? Passeron? Van Heerden? |

While usually our focus on the same region hurts both of us, this is where it could come handy indeed

You know I might part ways with two great leadout men...

Napolitano plus leadout men? |

Again interesting offer with your talents, it definitely got me thinking :-P Dan is a very nice talent, maybe someday he and Goos will ride together ;-)
Indeed it can hopefully :-) That's sounds rather tempting I have to say cio :-)
I don't think I could afford him to be fair, I don't think you'll have hard time off loading him though, he does have a good hilly stat for a sprinter so I think there will be few teams trying to get him on board.

The thing is he'll have his first decline this season. 66 hill isn't far away from Cav or Vantomme anymore.
I fear a similar situation as Cisco with Caruso emerging.
In the end it might not even be the worst decision to just not renew with him.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. The Caruso situation was caused by my lack of experience (and let's face it, common sense ) during the renewals. As long as you don't offer him a couple of 100k more than he's worth, you're fine!

If I can't get him under 400,000 he's gone. 66 isn't bad though, it'll do. 82SP means he will need a better leadout and I want him gone. Guardini and Petit will be decent albeit weaker replacements for 2015. |

400k will be difficult. You can get a 700k talent to 400k or less, but an actual leader with good results? 500k probably.
Vantomme went to 450k, but he had an awful season.

I would not get rid of Morton if i was you Alakagom, i can see HTC holding themselves in PCT even with his wage and pushing it too far with more experienced riders instead of your talents could destroy the spirit. Just saying
Puma looking to offload some of their leadout men, hmmm,Gasparotto, hmmm, that sounds interesting to my ears.

Jérôme Baugnies
Kenneth Vanbilsen
Well, that is a long list Although if someone offers around 3 to 5 million, you may send us an offer and we will go over it. Other than that, I doubt there's much that you can do. Baugnies will lead the cobbled classics for us next year and mentoring Vanbilsen who hopefully can dominate WT level in 2 years time
Available for transfer, however no point with coming shitty offers
Lachlan Morton
Florentino Marquez
Well not much too say here too. Morton is one of the biggest stage racing talents, we will prefer a rider deal that could include swapping for other talent or already quite well established rider. Marquez will probably lead our stage races next year so it will be difficult to get him away from the team, however his nationality is making me consider it.
Look at those cuties.. will likely stay but if a certain offer comes they might leave
Ian Boswell
Tom Van Asbroeck
Marc Goos
Nick Van Der Lijke
Enrico Barbin
Pieter Serry
Zico Waeytens
Patrick Lane
Wouter Wippert
Pavel Potocki
80 Hilly rider, 80 Sprinter, all-round stage racer, all-round sprinter, 78 Hilly rider, 78 Hilly Rider, 78 Hilly Rider, 77 Hilly Rider, 79 Sprinter, 77 Climber. Okay, you get my drift, some very promising talents we put a lot last year. Will likely stay, however all offers will be considered.
We might loose one of out hilly future riders, I am kinda feel we have one too many * cough Patrick Lane cough *
Old brigade will stay unless wage demands rise too much
Julien Berard
Marc De Maar
Kenny De Haes
Sander Armee
They did us proud this year. Maar was a great leader in the hilly races and scored some vital points. Armee led to us to creating Team Sky train in Africa while Berard has been shepherding Marquez all year. They were vital this year, will be vital next year, but if good offers come, they can be let go.
Yvo Kusters
Dries Van der Ginst
Stijn Vandenbergh
Kenny Van der Schueren
Olli Kulppi
It is quite emotional good bye mainly for the first four riders. They have been us from our first year where we have dominated the division and won the rankings in style, they did a phenomenal job this year, but we have to improve out all round standards of the whole team. I do hope most of them find a new team!

Quite surprised you think about trading some of your biggest talents.
Morton is definitely a future star and also Van der Lijke is a sure stage winner.
