Ah, the useless Italian Tt 'specialists' got in. Surprisingly popular them - almost made the Olympic team!
And to be a hypocrite, wooo Michael Ford

Glad to see Greipel get in. He can hopefully get a extremely lucky result.

Also, the spanish RR team looks quite bad considering, what could have been selected. I don't really care though, as none of them will win, but why not pick the guys with the highest possible endurance and a good stat like hill/mo or flat to make them attack? That is the only chance anyone from that nation has to win the race...
Oh well, much much better than last year, but still some childlike selections here and there.
Out of interest who would you have picked for Spain?
Because given Valverde, Barredo and Flecha were not available, I honestly can't see a stronger team.

Hmm good question. I actually thought they were available. Of course they aren't. Never mind me then

no problem, I was pretty dissapointed that I couldn't pick them as well. I guess the hope is it's a chaotic finish and a Spaniard happens to be at the front, all of them should be able to put in a decent sprint at the end.
Also, 4 of the 6 U23's in the Spanish team, as well as one of the TTers are from Santander, pretty pleased with that.

Nice work, Count. This worked out much better for my riders than I expected, since LL Sanchez has been integrated in the spanish squad and the portuguese TTT has so many Cerne riders. Also the portuguese u23 squad is seriously interesting
On the italian TT issue, I think that it really depends on your opinion. Of course a 74-75 TT rider won't have any chance at winning, but will Pozzatto (TT:71, HIL:79) or Ballan (TT:69, HIL:74) have a bigger chance in such a course? Well that seems pretty foolish if you ask me.

It wasn't too long since Pozzato ended 4th in a similar TT, I haven't seen those picked ever get a result close to that. But you are right, none of them will get any result whatsoever

Nice to see my Metinvest riders in the race, 4 in the TTT for Ukraine and young Zmorka also in u23 TT race.
What surprises me, is the fact that under Division2 jersey in that u23 mixed team, there is not single rider from Division2.
I hoped for my young talents Shapira and Albourdainy to got there somewhere.
Also about the choices given the demanding course, i was trying to pick them with cobbles and hills in mind. That is why i left out Daryl Impey out of South Africa squad and choose my rider Fouche instead of him, because Impey does not have a single percent chance do anything useful with his 52 cobble stat, i think this is what SoTd was talking about
Similar situation with Ukraine TTT, where i left out my rider Djudja and nominated lesser TTist, but someone who has more than his abyssmal 52 in hills. Still he made the squad, as he was simply one of the best eight TTs, but he will be droped on the first speedbump.

Just to point out that to qualify for the U23 races riders had to be 23 or under at the time of the race.
Shapira would be 24 at the time of the race.
Albourdainy is really a mountain climber and a pretty average one at that at the moment compared to Skikai, Grmay and Scarponi. Not that the parcours suit a mountain goat anyway. I liked the Div2 generic jersey so I chose that but yeah could have used one of Cyanides general ones.
Just to point out Cdiv2 are fairly underrepresented when it comes to the Worlds U23's but they do have Navarro (UPC) and Srigar (P Lasko) in the road race and Mkrtehyan (Armavia) and Zmorka (Metinvest) representing the 21 eligible riders from division two. It's not a bad ratio considering the top teams have the first dibs at all the riders.

Glad that so many Saab-Scania riders will ride here even if I didn´t have the time to be a selecter! |

Glad to see a couple of CSC riders even tough they really have no chance to have success (unless of a lucky breakaway miracle of course).

Sorry Smowz if i sounded something like i was demanding more of my riders in the race, that was not an intention. What you say is understandable.
I am more than happy i have a chance to have some riders there...
