Finally got to FM13 after getting my new computer which can actually run it.
Startet without a job and soon got picked up by Las Palmas who were struggling in 18th after 21 games in the spanish 2nd division. I'm now 37 games in (5 to go) and in 14th place. Looks like I'm going to make it, but next season is going to be a nightmare money-wise. We're losing £650.000 every month

We'll, after a run of 13 matches undefeated (with mostly wins) we ended in 8th. Around 5-6 non-important players have left freeing up some room in the wage budget and we've gotten some money from the chairman.

Either no one is bothered about or the ones normally bothered about are at vacation..
Ermagehrd Football Manager 2014 announced
More than 1,000 improvements and enhancements make Sports Interactive and SEGA’s tenth Football Manager the most compelling and realistic to date!
Football Manager 2014 is the most feature-packed and technically advanced release in the series’ history. Benefitting from more than 1,000 improvements and enhancements over its most recent predecessor, FM 2014 is the most realistic simulation of football management ever released.
In addition to enhanced gameplay, FM 2014 also delivers a range of technical innovations, with the game available on Linux for the first time and the introduction of ‘cloud save’ technology, which means that managers can now pursue a single career from any computer, anywhere in the world.
The FM experience is also more customisable than ever before, as the integration of Steam Workshop tools make it easy for managers to create and share customised FM content and experiences such as photo/logo packs, new and custom competitions and even tailor-made in-game challenges using the new Challenge Editor which has been incorporated into the free-to-download Pre-game Editor.
Football Manager 2014 highlights include:
An improved 3D Match Engine
A tactical overhaul
More realistic transfers and contracts
More sophisticated board interaction
More complex interaction between staff, players, board and rival managers
A revamped news system
An enhanced user interface
Evolution for Classic mode
Additional community features
Extensive tech improvements
Well with finally getting a grip at this game having a career I liked after the first seasons half even though not having changed my approach maybe FM14 is on my card again as it seems that it really improves and the developer really trying hard to improve their product.
Unlike EAs manager that you are only allowed to buy from the stores in Germany stupid DFB/DFL with their exclusive license.. Good stuff that you can import games so easily nowadays
My career with 1. FC Köln is really weird though:
1st year: 1st in the 2nd league with least conceded goals normally my teams are in the defense as open as a barn door and DFB-Cup finalist - lost against Bayern 0-3
2nd year: Thanks to the previous directors at the club dishing out contracts no one with some sanity would offer this is difficult.
Could just spend 2 Million on transfers and I bought just Troisi (Atalanta/Juventus those weird co-ownerships..) and Eikrem (Molde).
Free Agent just Mohamad as he was with Cologne once but was transfered to the Emirates so I brought him back for free.
After I saw my striker are sucking or let's say not putting the ball into the net I made something Wenger should do: Panic and getting someone.
Santa Cruz was Free Agent but it was too late so he only plays in the Domestic Cup and League as the regristration for the Europe League was already done.
Weirdly enough that he is from the stats similar to my 1st striker he puts the ball in the net unlike the now number 2nd striker
Qualifying to the Europe League beating a Georgian club and M. Haifa
in the playoffs.
Finished 1st in my group without a loss 4 wins and 2 draws the group was Lazio, Twente and Genk.
Currently the 1st knockout game is to be played against Anji Ma............................
Well thats a sure bet that this is the end as just the 2 most valueble players from Ma...................... are more worth than my whole club.
Currently 11th in the Bundesliga but well the seasons goal is consolidate and the board wants me to get used to the league so I guess can't be fired at the moment
Good stuff that the league is rather close from 3rd to the 2nd half table. So with a good streak I just need to get into the Top 6 so I don't need to rely again on the DFB cup
DFB cup at the moment progressed to the quarterfinals and I don't know who I will play next.
If that would really have happened to Cologne last year you would be a club legend
Never was in a club longer than 1 year without being fired and even Bordeaux wanted me as a manager but they are 19th in Ligue 1 (ok 20M€ transfer budget was nice) they can forget it as I want to stay at least 5 years at a club and probably would have been fired sooner rather than later at Bordeaux if securing the club to the top table isn't successful.

Decided to give this another go, with Tottenham. Got a nice transfer budget so signed Stevan Jovetic to strengthen the strike force, as well as Kevin Strootman, Davide Santon and Simon Mignolet to replace Friedel as Lloris' backup.
So far the season has been a success, beating Arsenal 1-0 first game and currently sitting in 3rd in the league after 7 games. Jovetic has started really well on his own up front scoring 5 goals so far. Our 4-3-3 with wingers and an anchor man has worked a treat, even if it doesn't produce lots of goals.
I probably won't buy FM 2014, but you never know. For now I'm happy with this version. |

So being a free man once again, I'm now downloading FM2013.
I know I have complained about this before ... but I still don't quite get the community. Why does it have to be so difficult to download add-ons?
The downloads are huge in size which is fine - high quality as well, so that makes sense. But rather than making the packs available as torrents, they insist on up to 29 file parts on those slow, restricted hosting sites.
Imagine the size of the community - there'd be a million seeders of the most popular add-ons...
I guess the reason is that by making it as difficult as possible, there's more of a reason to get a (paid) premium membership. |

So I gave up and paid since I didn't really want to spend the next couple of days downloading an add-on or two. Turns out this high speed link really is ... not fast at all. Getting 400 KB/s max. Yay...

Marchisio to Real for 40 Million
Farfán to United for 30 Million
Banega to PSG for 40 Million (da fuq?)
Yarmolenko to Monaco for 30 Million

Check out LFCMarshall on fmbase.uk or facebook, he will release a new big update tomorrow if I have it correct.
Anyone have a date for the release of FM14?
Only found "Will be released in the fourth quarter of 2014." somewhere... |

I probably won't be buying FM14, I'm happy with my current Las Palmas-career. Took over midway in the first season when they were in 18th. We ended at 8th after an unbeaten run of 13 games.
So far in my first proper season we are leading the table with 22 out of 22 possible wins. We also made it to the quarter finals in the cup after beating Valencia 2-0 and Sevilla 4-3 before losing 3-0 to Barcelona.

all the others have been end of october/start of november and I'd expect it to be roughly then but I don't think they've announced the exact date yet.

Just started a brand new career with the trio of Tottenham (my favorite team)/Everton and Fulham.
All three are pretty fun, the Spurs and Everton are doing pretty well in the league so far (I played 8 rounds), but with Fulham I really struggle. I'm almost dead last...
My starting XI's:
Lloris – Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Santon (16m) – Sandro, Inler (22m), Griezmann (24m), Eriksen, Douglas Costa (13m)/Lamela – Adebayor
5th in the league with a game in hand 4-2-3-1 Asymmetric
Howard – Dani Carvajal (on loan), Jagielka, Distin, Baines – Pienaar, Barry, Osman, Brunt (8m) – Jelavic, Lukaku
8th in the league with a game in hand 4-4-2
Stekelenburg – Jonathan, Hangeland, Rhys Williams (7m), Riise – Duff, Parker, Xhaka (15m), Kalinikcic – Bent, Berbatov
20th in the league (on the verge of getting sacked) 4-4-2

FM2014 official release date is 31st of October.
Preorderers will get the beta version of the game 2 weeks before the release so it's around the 17th of October plus/minus some days.

I started a career with the conference team Chester. I'm in preseason at the moment, but it is going well. I had a win against League 2 Shrewsbury and then a 2-2 draw against Hibernian. If I play like that I should be able to dominate the BSN and move up to the Premier conference. I'm also going to put my efforts into the FA Trophy.

Just started a career with Benfica. Probably my favourite team to play as in FM. Signed Bernard for 380m with the "cheat" of payment per month.
So far he's been a bit dissapointing. But at least he is getting better and I can probably sell him for a much higher price later on |
