Stage 2

Today is a hill stage. Objective is keep the jersey.

The Race

Almost from the word go the team was on the front.

As soon as the mountain started Dowsett has down his job and Cummings took over.

Something pretty amazing happened with 8km to go in the mountain. A group of 5 riders rode away from the peloton including me and Fuglsang, Boiletti, Sorenson and Cummings.

A group of 6 then rode of the front as well including Rolland, Jeniszewski, Habeaux, Lund, Kocjan and Vachon. They got caught very quickly.

The leading group of 4 went over the top with 1.50 on the rest of the favourites and 17 seconds ahead of Boiletti who dropped of in the last kilometre.

At the bottom of the hill (80km to go) we were 2.45 ahead of the chasing group.

With 60km to go Cummings swapped spots with Sorenson and the gap start to extend even more.

Behind, Zubeldia attacked and was followed by Giordani and Pascopiello.

With 35km to go Cummings dropped off. He did his job wonderfully.

With 27km to go it was time for me to attack.

Fuglsang caught up and it was now a battle for the overall lead.

I attacked again with 23km to go and Fuglsang didn't follow so closely this time.

He caught up with 2km to go till the sprint.

I won the sprint and got a bit more time on Fuglsang.

With 16km to go we were still playing around waiting for the right time to attack.

With 7km to go it looked like I had finally gotten away from Fuglsang.

Then 1km later he caught back up.

I kept trying to get away but with 2km left he caught back up.

The sprint started and with 1km to go I was leading. I wasnt sure if I could hold him off.

I managed to hold him off all the way to the line and take my 2nd stage win in a row.

Charteau came across the line in 3rd 1.05 behind. Rolland won the sprint for 4th.

Stage 3

Another hilly stage with a steep uphill finish.

The Race

With 130km to go there was a break of 13 riders 45 seconds ahead of the
peloton.

With 120km to go the team got on the front with Dowsett leaving.

At the start of the first hill a split happened with 41 riders dropping of the back. All the favourites are still in the leading group.

The break was caught with 99km to go.

With 72km to go it was now Cummingsâ€™ turn to do the pace making. As you can see Fuglang has made it to the front in the green jersey.

Going over the top Cummingâ€™s won the mountain sprint ahead of Sorenson and me.

Another 33 riders dropped of and created a leading peloton of 48 riders.

With 2km to go in the sprint the team was still on the front. I will only sprint if Figlsang does.

Fuglsang decided to sprint so I did as well but unfortunately Cummings didnâ€™t see me coming and blocked my path.

I still managed to get 2nd place but only just to Rolland.

With 37km to go other teams decided to stary contributing to the pace so Cummings started working with them.

With 23km to go the 3 of us were just sitting in the leading group waiting for the climb to start. It was verandaâ€™s and Europcar on the front.

With 18km to go the pace was high coming of the 2nd last mountain and we were all getting ready for the mountain top finish. There is now only 18 riders in the leading group.

With 4km to go the mountain started.

At the very beginning I attacked and only Van Goolen could follow.

I quickly got 40 seconds on Fuglsang.

With 1km to go I still had 30 seconds on Fuglsang.

And there it was my 3rd stage win in a row. I finished about 1 minute ahead of Fuglsang who got 2nd place.

The Biggest loser of the day was Rory Sutherland. He lost 8.05 and dropped back to 20th overall. Bad luck Rory. The team is so happy that I chose to race in Austria and in the Qinghai lake because they didn't think I would do this well this season as my main focus was the tour. I hope to return to these races someday in the future.

I have kinda fixed it. I have sent it to KenL. He is going to get my new equipment into the db and hopefully I will have no more problems.

I just started the 2012 season and was about the race the Aus NC when it stuffed up again. Sorry guys.

I don't know what to do.
