Paris-Nice:
Voigt attacked at the top of the Col d'Eze with a few lower placed guys, Cunego one of them. Cunego made a fantastic descent and the riders had a minute's lead over the bunch, and it looked like Voigt would be taking a great victory at Paris-Nice.
However, they caught Van Garderen and in the run-in to the line, he lost contact with the group and it happened that his gap to the group was small enough to be given the same time and the from him to the bunch was small enough so that the bunch was given the same time too!
Tosatto ended in the bunch and got a highly unexecpected victory! Kreuziger disappointed by not even trying and it all boiled down to that great attack at the top of the final climb, which eventually produced nothing but some fireworks.
Gerrans only lost 2 minutes to the winner of the stage, Rinaldo Nocentini, who was part of a group who attacked early on the slopes of the final climb. Rodriguez was there too. The group caught every single one of the day's break. Fuglsang was the only escapee able to hang on to that group of favourites.
3km from the line, Nocentini went again and nobody responded and his gap of 40s held all the way to the line. Fuglsang tried something himself, a bit later on, nearing the final kilometre. He managed a small gap over Rodriguez and finished in second place.
The peleton fractured in two big groups of favourites on the final climb.Gerrans hung on to the second group, while Sagan felt really strong and was at the front of the first group in the finale. The first group lost a minute to Nocentini while the second group was a further minute back.
Gerrans held on comfortably to his lead heading into the final stage, where no changes in the general classification would be expected.
