With all the coverage the Giro is getting in Denmark, one would almost think it's the Tour ... which is fine by me.
Except for the fact that while until recently it didn't really bother me much that I had decided not to go, I really, really want to go now. |

Thanks to the great placement of the pricetag on my copy of the newest "ProCycling" one of the headlines is now "... complete stage analy".
As if the Giro wasn't hard enough...

The Giro looks like it should be a really nice race this year - I am enjoying the parcours should build brilliantly to the end. Hope the weather is okay for the Stelvio finish.
No Contador opens things up. Scarponi and Basso have the pedigree but haven't looked super super yet. Not convinced about Rujano either, Pozzovivo was amazing in Trentino but... we know what has happened to him in the Giro. Then you have Schleck as well a guy who was 3rd in last years Tour, can he pull the off the beach win as Contador did those years ago?
My prediction though is with Kreuziger, he looks in the mood this year to break out for me.
1. Kreuziger
2. Scarponi
3. Schleck
4. Gadret
5. Rodriguez

Uran still looks bit battered after FW fall. Henao will definitely be the man in the mountains for Sky, has a good chance of Top 10. Should bet some money on that too.

Change it. I missed the London Tour prologue and bitterly regret it to this day

Best tour of the year is almost there
I hope for some action packed first stages, wind prediction is not so good though |

TDF 2008 presentation was held literally 500 m away from where I lived back then, and the first stage headed from that city to another one where I studied, using a lot of my (former) training roads (my parents live somewhere between those two places).
The 2004 stage to Quimper was more or less the same, except that it wasn't the very first stage, so no presentation was held near my place.
I didn't go. You want informations ? Use internet. You want to see the riders on your very home turf ? T.V. coverage is 100x better.
I wouldn't want to sound excessively misanthropic, but you're only going to find yourself among a bunch of idiots who won't know what they're talking about. A crowd is rarely cycling-educated. You'll wait during one, maybe two hours, getting various useless stuff (biscuits, pencils, flyers, etc.) thrown at you by advertising cars (the famous "caravan" ), for a riding peloton to pass by you at full speed, that'll be a wind blow and a particular noise, you'll notice 3 or 4 riders at best in the whole peloton, and that's it.
Now, Giro might be different than Tour de France, and Danemark is not France. Make up your mind. If your position gives you a close access to riders, team, organisation, that might be an interesting experience. Otherwise, well...

This.
Meaning we're not able to see pre-stage favourite Rasch out on the course today
But seriously, this is just annoying. |
