Farrar is on fire at the moment. Cav would be an awesome addition to the team, but would Edvald or Greg be prepared to work as lead out man for him?
All the best for the Vuelta. Aiming for a top 3 in all 3 GT? |

Edvald is leaving at the end of the season. I know Swify wont have a problem with it, as im sure he will be at the Worlds. Greg is also leaving, but Adam is progessing nicely into that potential role. And by getting Heinrich onboard we have another lead-out option. It would be nice if i could top 3 in the vuelta. But i'm targetting the KoM, so we could get all 3 GT KoM jerseys.
I'll put up a full blog just before the Vuelta.

The Rain in Spain Falls mainly on the Plains
It feels ages since i last did a blog...
Let begin with the post-TDF celebration. Nothing happened. Dave, in his infinite wisdom banned us from anything beacuse we still have important races. So Brad DID NOT dj, i DID NOT drink way too much, and Swifty DID NOT convince someone he was me...
Of course its been transfer time. Ive already made a few comments here. Ive been spending some more time with Mark as he is in a relative rest period. He mostly asks about life at Sky, and he is seriously considering a move to us, but hes waiting to get the other offers.
The Vuelta is my final race of the year, at the moment. I will target the KoM Jersey, and if i win, Sky will be the first team to win all three in a season, as far as i know. Edvald will target the Points jersey, so most of the team is goven over to that. I do get a bit of support from xabier and Lars, i think Dave is testing out my leadership skills with a view to next year.
Of course i will keep you fully up to date through out the Vuelta, and my next full blog will be after the Vuelta.
Peter

Team; Flecha, Knees, Appollonio, Downing, Hunt, Barry, Thomas, Henderson
Greg would be the man for the finish, which is 99% likely to be bunch dash. G would be his lead-out, allowing Davide to be free roaming.
Barry opened the days attacks riding 30km solo before being caugh. Hunt got into the main BOTD wich included Goss, Galimzyanov and C.A. Sorensen. Hunt rode solo off the front with 180km to go, and lasted to 20km to go, when he was brought back. The break got a maximum of 9'30.
With 20km to go Knees attacked, to the joy of the home crowds. He was joined by Sorensen and the 2 went away.
Flecha bridged with 10km to go, to form a strong challange.
Knees attacked again with 4km to go, and looked good to win.
Garmin charged the peloton into the final straight with Flecha being caught at 1.5km to go.
Knees was caught at 800m to go by Hushovd.
Thor held on from a late Sky charge to win in Hamburg.
Thomas was 2nd and Greg 3rd to make a Sky dominated podium. Davide made it in 5th, behind Bos.
This was a strong race for the team with Hunt solo, lots of TV time, good for sponsors. G and Greg (G2) were surprisingly strong in the finish to get podiums, keep Skys great results coming. This was a welcome distraction from the pressures of the Vuelta, even if we only has 2 stages.
