Marseille sink Inter more, by winning 1-0, with a late goal by Ayew. Meanwhile, FC Basel cause shock by beating Bayern Munich by the same score, 1-0.

Siwi: No team has ever own the Champions League two years in a row. Barcelona has been playing worse this season compared to last season. With those two facts in mind, I think it's fair to hope (and expect) Barcelona to be beaten eventually
But who should beat them? Madrid maybe, but they usually lose against Barca, so i dont think.. Cant really see any other team do it. Or Milan, but that would need a sensational good day for them and a bad day for Barca. |

Madrid is the only team that can beat Barcelona, imo. They are the favourites and the rest are just outsiders which would need a fair bit of luck to knock out either of them.
I'm still crossing fingers for CSKA to have their luckiest day ever in Madrid though. That'd be awesome.

I think Real or AC can beat Barca, when having a good day. Real is better team in my eyes (at least they are playing football, not handball in the middle of the pitch), but they dont know (well Jose dont know) how to cope with that Barcelona stupid tactics, which is so boring and then bang! they score.
Also Bayern could be able to beat them, they will sink Basel in the second leg probably.

FC Barcelona has been founded based on the FC Basel, so FC Basel will kick them out after they kicked the other FCB. |

What you call stupid tactics have helped Barcelona win 13 titles in 3 years. I wonder what could they do with some cleverer tactics.

I expressed myself wrong, i know their tactics are brilliant and rocks, but i hate it (that is why i used stupid), as they have 1000 passes in the game, from which 800 are on their own half of the pitch or aroundd the middle. For me this is boring as hell, for example yestardays Basel-Bayern was twice a game than any Barca game in the last five years.
Real also plays a lot more interesting football in my eyes

The only thing boring about Barça's football is that it kills the opposition. I'm yet to see, since Guardiola is their coach, a team that dominates Barcelona, and that makes their matches quite predictable. Otherwise it's pretty awesome.
And I'm as well more of a counter-attack football guy, but credit where it's due.

Barcelona wins World's best teams and has the world's best player.
El Clásico's knew that Real Madrid can not stop Messi. Milan, Napoli, Bayern Munich etc. is good, but not Barca level.

If you like football matches where only one team is playing, then call it awesome. If their game is killing something, it is game of football, not the opposition. I really dont like to watch 90 minutes of half-pitch masturbation. Also their game is more and more predictible (they are not even able to beat lesser spanish teams in the league) with every month, i give them maybe 2 years on the top of Europe (also when FFP rule will come into play).
And also the Argentinian midget is excellent, but not the best i think. Put him in the Premier league average team and he would score 10 goals/year max.

Only one team plays because they're incredibly superior to the opposition. If it was just passing the ball in half-pitch, and, voilà , we own every competition, everybody would be playing that way. And they definitely do not spend that much time passing in their own half. That claim would be somewhat justified with the spanish national team, but definitely not with Barcelona.

They beat most teams in the league, lesser, and top (including Madrid). They have been weaker this season so far in the league, but I reckon this may be partly motivation-caused. After all, they've been strong as always in CL and Cup.
And you're delusional if you think FFP will change things much, if anything. Maybe for oil-rich teams, like City or PSG, but not for teams like Barcelona or Madrid.

He's not the best? Good joke.

He is the best, the best marketing brand in hands of Fifa. In fact he benefits from playing in front of the best midfielders in the world. I think Xavi and Iniesta are better footballers, also Ronaldo is more complete striker.
The fact that 2010 Golden Ball was not won by Messi, not Xavi (who had same succesess with club obviously and led Spain to the World Cup title) is one of the most ridiculous situations in the history of that award.
Without Messi Barca would still be the same dominant team with another striker filling his role.

If you really believe that then you are delusional. I do agree with you that he is not the best (Xavi is imo) but he is in the top 3.
Pozzato sucks!

There's no striker in the world who could fulfill Messi's role. No one can dribble, assist and score as he does. He's head and shoulders above any other player right now. Of course, playing with Xavi and Iniesta makes it easier, but he's still incredible.

I had a feeling that Arsenal was going to make a game out of this second leg as soon as the final whistle was blown in the first leg. I'm glad they've done it too. It's fun to watch.

I deliberately didn't watch because I knew that they would make me believe and then fail. But now I'm watching, and have set myself up for disappointment.
