Tour de France 11: Stage 5: Carhaix > Cap Fréhel 164.5 km
Il Grillo
So, all crashes so far happened on straight roads.

Cabyon
Yes, in that case I think there is some negative spirit with crashes in the TdF

BouBBox
I thought there were a bit to much crashes in PCM 2011 to be realistic but it actually seems like there arn't enough Rolling Eyes

Don't think Boonen will get to Paris

Chapeau Boonen for trying to carry on. It's not going to happen for him, he'll be abandoning soon.
There's no point slapping a schleck - Sean Kelly on "Who needs a slap"

boonen 5 min behind the peloton

Gesink too far behind -> risk!

Yeah, his collarbones gone. He won't start tomorrow if he even makes it to the line.

Never know, he may do a Big George and lie about having a broken collarbone. That's if he can get in within the time limit
“After the chain slip incident on the Port de Balès, he should have attacked the Spaniard day after day, in front of the microphones and on the air too, without giving him time to piss!”

He has to visit the doctor.

So not good. The knee is hurting.

Too soon to know, imo. He seems to be riding fine so I think it's nothing serious. Not serious enough to ruin his Tour, at least.

Frans Maassen Rabo DS: Gesink, Barredo and Garate fell. Gesink is worst, but he only seems to have cuts and bruises, nothing serious. Gesink has no problems on the bike. Maassen expects hell in the final part of the stage

Everything he does on the bike indicate that his right collarbone is broken. He don't put any weight on his right arm, he lets the arm rest on the handlebar. He was raising his left hand towards his right shoulder just after he got on the bike, but put it back on the handlebars right away, most likely because of pain in the collarbone when all the right side had to carry all his weight. Also the way he sat on the road pointed towards a broken collarbone.
