Hagen is really unlucky rider so far, broken ribs, problems with achilles tendons and now shingles. Jez. Can it get any worse ? Hope he recovers well and for time in Tour.

it's the same thing?
"Herpes zoster (or simply zoster), commonly known as shingles and also known as zona, is a viral disease characterized by a painful skin rash with blisters in a limited area on one side of the body, often in a stripe "

Most British people would just read Herpes. And not the zoster. Herpes is a sexually transmitted disease, and for those who don't have it, funny as F.

What RJC said. Most Brits will read Herpes, and burst out laughing.

Good news, Edvald Boasson Hagen is getting better, and something mystical has to happen for him not to start the tour on saturday!

When you put these three words together in the same sentence, the more likely outcome is: nothing happens. It's just like Spain and anti-doping operations. |

Just feeding anti-cycling bashers "oh, listen, those junkies are at it again, they'll never learn, it's time to stop the TDF".
Then nothing happens...
They should announce it when they catch them, but right before the TDF is a bit suicidal or annoying. |

Interview with Michael Rasmussen.
MR: "I'm convinced that I won [the races], because I'm an incredible cyclist. The results that I have achieved have been won in an equal battle"
Journalist: "So you're saying that if those you have competed with have used doping, you have too?"
MR: "I'm saying that I didn't cheat my competitors in any way"
... long pause
Even if don't understand Danish, it's worth watching the clip. Rasmussen's expressions are gold:

What I'm missing from that interview is the context. What was the purpose of the interview, and why was it leaked by the one journalist in Denmark, who seem to be manically chasing every single doping case in professional sports that he can get his hands on?
I'm not really convinced, but I will never put any money on any professional rider being clean either. |
