A lot in this game is going to depend on the performances of Anton and Rodriguez. On paper they are 2 of the top climbers in this race, but its not clear if Anton is aiming for GC or stages and I think Rodriguez can at times be inconsistent.
Its why I avoided them, but clearly they have been popular, and could score very well. (I went for Scarponi and Nibali instead as I consider them more likely to be podium contenders, while Contador is a must because he is Contador)

So I did some counting myself and there are roughly 32,600 points on offer, depending on the size of breaks and how many riders finish etc.
There are also 1006 points of riders available. Therefore riders need to be getting more than 32.4 points per point they cost for them to be a good deal.
This means that Cav requires about 4 stage wins to be worth it, while random 2 pointers need to pick up 70 points somewhere to break even

Woohoo, I'm in the lead... For now.
I'll lose points later on, mainly because I don't really think I have enough good climbers on my team |

I don't count on doing many points in the first week, so I'll just wait for the mountains.
BTW, the team leader of the overall rankings (not our league) must have chosen plenty of HTC's.

I'm really satisfied with my current 12th place, as I didn't expect to get any points at all during the first week.

I'm sitting nicely in 21st, since Philip Deignan picked up some big points from the Radioshack TTT.

If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

Mid table despite not choosing Pinotti. Not bad. Now I need HTC's train to arrive late tomorrow. |

My points will be coming from climbers so i'll take any points at this stage. Decent start for out league, there are a few guys up there overall. |

My team for the event:
Alberto CONTADOR [26]
Vincenzo NIBALI [22]
John GADRET [6]
Jose SERPA [8]
Danilo NAPOLITANO [8]
Christophe LE MEVEL [4]
Marco PINOTTI [6]
Diego ULISSI [2]
Michele SCARPONI [18]
I went for 3 big GC chances as well as Pinotti and Serpa who I think can go top 15 at least, then Gadret and Le Mevel for top 30s as I recall Le Mevel saying he is riding for GC. Ulissi is a bit of a wildcard but I suspect he will try to get in a breakaway at some point and young talent can always surprise. Napolitano was about the best I could get for a dirt cheap sprinter.

Started of very nice. 4th atm is a bit better than anticipated from the TTT, but I had a hope that HTC would win. Lotto was a bonus though!
I really hope that Cavendish will win today ahead of Cavendish and then perhaps a good result from Sabatini

If he can do that I'd be very impressed

I got off to good start. With 70 points on board its good start as the team is focused on moutains. I hope for Ventoso on stage 3 & 4 too. I don't think Cav or Farrar can survive the hills and he would be good bet.
