A lot of attacks on the last lap, but some good team effort denies any break aways

Offredo leads out Voeckler

Bad news, Levarlet fell and was injured, it is then hughly unlikely that he will be participating in the Tour de France

Appreciated! Smile

I have already made my choices on who I want to sign, and I will tell who it is when they sign.

The Route

The first 4 stages are interesting. It starts with a rather flat stage, and ends in a uphill sprint, the same goes for stage 3 and 4. Stage 2 is a TTT.

Then there are just flat stages until stage 8, where the finish is in Super-Besse Sancy. This is one of the stages I have picked out for Voeckler to win, a long with the first.

Stage 9 and 10 are quite hilly, but they will most likely end in a mass sprint. This is probably Feillus possibility to win a stage, as both Greipel and Cavendish may suffer more on the hills.

Then we have the first 3 mountain stages. Stage 12 goes over the Tourmalet and finishes on Luz Ardiden. On stage 13 we pass the Aubisque and finish in Lourdes 50 kms later. Stage 14 includes Col d'Agnes and finishes on Plateau de Beille. It is imminent that we get many mountain points on these 3 stages.

We then have 2 stages along the Mediterranean before we head in the mountains again. Stage 16, which finishes in Gap is a typical breakaway stage, so we will place a rider here. The same goes for the following stage, which finishes in Pinerolo.

Next up is two very hard mountain stages. Stage 17 goes over Col d'Agnel, Col de l'Izoard and finishes at the top of Galibier. The next stage is very short, and includes the Galibier and finishes on Alp d'Huez. The race and the mountain jersey will be decided on these two stages.

Senoble - LOOK squad

My Goals

A top 10 is too much to ask from Sicard, so we will probably go for stage wins, and the polkadot. I also want to have a man in the break in every stage. Feillu, Mondory and Offredo will take care of the sprints, where we hopefully can manage some 3rd positions.

Favorites

Overall

i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac168/alexkr10/Flags/ESP.png Alberto Contador is unquestionably the biggest favorite this year. despite that there only is only 64 kms of timetrialing, and 23 of those are TTT. Contador has 2 good timetrialists with him, Larsson and Porte, other than that no rider can timetrial. With no Navarro on the start, they don't have a strong team in the mountains either.

i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac168/alexkr10/Flags/LUX.png Andy Schleck this year, a timetrial can be where Andy Schleck gets an advantage on Contador. He has a very strong team with him including, Cancellara, Monfort, Gerdemann, Voigt and Frank Schleck.
Despite this, he isn't my favorite to win.

i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac168/alexkr10/Flags/ESP.png Samuel Sanchez can actually with some luck introduce himself to the predetermined duo. But on the other hand he has an awful team with him. Only riders worth mentioning are Egoi Martinez and Igor Anton.

i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac168/alexkr10/Flags/ITA.png Vincenzo Nibali was nowhere near top form in the Giro where he lost minutes to Cunego in the mountains. So let's hope he has prepared better for the Tour. Without Basso his team is very weak, and they will be in big trouble in the team time trial.

i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac168/alexkr10/Flags/CZE.png Roman Kreuziger this year can be his breakthrough in the Tour and he is very likely to finish higher than last year. He has a very even team, and you can see that they are only here to support him. If you look away from Allan Davis that is, who I think will get a free role in the sprints.

i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac168/alexkr10/Flags/NED.png Robert Gesink this years extremely strong starting field will keep Gesink from the podium, I don't even think he will finish in the top 5. Luis Leon Sanchez will be a key team member, both in the mountains and in the team-time-trial.

i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac168/alexkr10/Flags/GBR.png Bradley Wiggins I don't see him doing better than in 2009, but will still manage a top 10 I reckon. And Sky is my favorite for the team-time-trial a long with Leopard, with riders like. Rogers, Løfkvist, Thomas and Uran.

i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac168/alexkr10/Flags/AUS.png Cadel Evans It hasn't exactly gone upwards since he finished second in 2008, and I can only see him fighting for a top-10 at the best. Has a OK team with him, but only good time-trialist is Hincapie

***** A. Schleck, A. Contador
**** S. Sanchez, V. Nibali
*** R. Kreuziger, R. Gesink, B. Wiggins, C. Evans
** C. Vandevelde, L. Leipheim, J. van den Broeck
* N. Roche, R. Taaramae, J. Coppel

Sprinters

i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac168/alexkr10/Flags/GBR.png Mark Cavendish this has to be the year where Cavendish finally takes the green jersey. I don't see any rider beating him this year. And he has a pure sprinter team with him.

i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac168/alexkr10/Flags/GER.png Andre Greipel will have to fight it out with his former team mate. And with no Farrar present, I don't see anyone but these two winning the maillot vert

***** M. Cavendish
**** A. Greipel
*** H. Haussler/T. Hushovd, T. Boonen
** D. Bennati, R. McEwen,
* A. Davis, B. Swift, T. Bos, R. Feillu

Thanks! It will be very tough though, and I haven't decided which rider who should take it.

Is it only me who are having trouble playing the first stage? It has crashed 4 times in a row now...

With a great lead out, Voeckler decides to go early

Boonen and Pozzato reaches Voeckler soon after, surely he can't win this?

Yes, he can! Fantastic ride by Voeckler, which also secures a day in yellow!

Feillu fell a bit back before the sprint started, and has to use some power to get back in front. Mondory will do the final lead-out

(Tried playing the stage 4-5 times, but never succeeded to finish it. Therefore (sadly) I had no other choice but simulating it.
