Grivko: We can still turn it around
Team B&O is facing a fierce battle to avoid relegation. With just two races remaining they are in the drop zone trailing Puma by a mere 12 points. It's nothing, but there's little time.
"Tour of Tasmania is going to be tough. We don't have any strong GC rider there and Puma's got Van den Broeck. I'm afraid that if everything goes badly they can seal our fate in that race.
It's not over yet completely. Our guys in Tasmania are super motivated and I'm extremely motivated for Tour of Lombardy. Also we have Rasmus [Guldhammer] and Dom [Klemme] with us there, so there's still a chance we could pull our heads above water."

Guldhammer: We know what we have to do!
One race to go.
Team B&O leads Team Puma-Sap by 26 points before the final showdown in Lombardy. It's a race where a good performance will be rewarded pointswise and that has the Danish team worried about the presence of Jürgen van den Broeck of Puma.
"I have to look after Jürgen [van den Broeck]", Rasmus Guldhammer told Danish TV2."We have to match him and keep tabs on him because if he gets too much seperation, that could be the end of our ProTour spell. I feel like I'm not that much behind him though and if we're in the same group I'm convinced I can outsprint him. He needs to get rid off me when we start climbing."
(...)
"People only talk about us and Puma which is wrong. Heineken has Pozzato here. It's his home-country and he can sprint with the best of them plus he likes the explosive and sharp uphills. Heineken is definitely to be considered more than dangerous and we will definitely keep a close look on them aswell."
The 2014 ProTour season concludes in a few days in Tour of Lombardy, one of the mos mythical races on the calendar.
Rasmus Guldhammer is the captain in Lombardy.

"Wake-up call will have consequences"
When the 2013 season started Team B&O was weaker than previous seasons having sold team captain and current World Champion, Edvald Boasson Hagen to Norwegian team Aker-MOT.
Relegation was never on anyone's lips - at least in the circles of the team itself. A few critics had proclaimed big doubts as to the team's ability scrape through and survive 2013 in the top tier of road racing.
The goal was an overall 10th place in the ProTour Standings, but that turned out to be off by a considerable distance. As a matter of fact it took a surprise effort from Michal Kwiatkowski, who has only gained minor results with the team, to save the team from relegation, when he won the KOM jersey in the final stage race of the season in Tasmania.
Before Tour of Tasmania, KOM jerseys was but a solar eclipse for the team. Only twice in the team's six years history had a rider won a KOM competition. That's a frequency of .33 KOM jerseys per season! Indeed Kwiatkowski's effort couldn't have come at a more convenient time.
The team suffered bad luck in the Tour de France, where team captain Alex Pluchkin suffered a puncture in stage 13 and dropped down the GC ultimately costing the team a lot of ranking points.
The Moldovan and partly Nico Keinath where the team's only consistent points scorers throughtout the 2013 campaign, and that must be to the worry of the team.
In a press conference following Tour of Lombardy, the team manager was adressed with this question:
"It is a problem, and I think for sure it's something we are going to have to take very seriously and act on of course."
(...)
"We have missed every single of the goals we had this season and that could have some bearing on our budget. That being said we still have Pluchkin and two ever improving riders in Nico Keinath and Rasmus Guldhammer, who could well in the stage races in 2014. Also Kwiatkowski and Arndt are beginning to show glimpses of what they can do, just look at the Worlds in Stuttgart."
(...)
"Our main focus will still be stage races, but we have to think about bringing in one or two riders who could do well in other terrains, and on their own. I have big expectations for Rasmus [Guldhammer] and he will consistently be a leader next year."
(...)
"The most important thing is that we keep our ambitions within the quality of the team. The big goal is still the Tour de France, but obviously you can't be sure to go there if you are not in the ProTour."
Transfer season is coming up and by the sounds of it, we could expect the team to add to the roster to make sure they will stay in the ProTour on a permanent basis.
Team B&O needs to have a buffer if this happens again.

Congrats for staying in the PT, it would be shame to see your team going down because of Pluschkin bad luck at the Tour.
Year passed by and there are again rumours about Andriy Grivko maybe having a wish of refresing his career with a move to his home country team. Any comments on that from respected manager niconico?

"No-one is on their way out as it seems"
With the transfer season just around the corner, Danish paper Politiken got the following statement from the team manager regarding his position to the upcoming frenzy.
"As of right now there's no rider that in my mind is clear-cut for leaving the team. There's one, maybe two riders we have to make a decision on regarding their future at Team B&O, but it's nothing critical."
When asked about potential signings the manager did not rule out that the team would bring in some new faces.
"It is possible. I have a few riders in my sight that would fit in perfectly, especially in the team's goal of winning the Tour. It's only about some riders on a short list that we have worked out and nothing more. Some say we need to sign someone, but I disagree. This team is getting ever stronger."
Team B&O recorded a record low of just 3 wins throughout the 2013 season, all stage wins by Aleksandr Pluchkin, who is setting his sights on yet another go at La Grande Boucle crown.

Team B&O reveals 2014 kit
Bang og Olufsen will for the sixth consecutive year be sponsoring niconico's ProTour team, which makes it one of the oldest teams in Man-Game history. The current deal was today extended, making it run until the end of 2016.
"We are thrilled to once again be backed up completely by B&O. They are commited to the team and believe in our ways. The end of last season marks the beginning of a new era I feel and we have been working with jersey designer Maximka, who has made a new jersey for the team. It's by far my favourite B&O jersey and I hope we'll see at the front of many races to come."
Also new is a cooperation with Swedish sports equipment manufacturer POC, from which brand the team will be riding with new Octal helmet.

Wow wasn't expecting to see your classic kit to be updated, but I have to reckon this one has conquered me. I'm quite a fan of this sort of minimalism.

Daniel Klemme has come and talked with AMEXpc leadership and requested that we inquire about acquiring the services of his brother Domenik Klemme for the coming season. He worries that his brother's career is waning and unless they can get together soon they will never be able to ride together.

Grivko, Klemme speculations
Following the continued expressing of wanting of the riders Grivko and Klemme from Metinvest and AMEX, niconico has issued the following release.
"Nothing's impossible. I'm aware that Domenik Klemme would love to ride with his brother at some point and since his qualities mainly lie in the hills it's not something we can rule out. Grivko is definitely staying with us throughout the season, but he has expressed his desire to move back to Continental level at some point and if he decides to do that next season, there's nothing I can or will do about it. If one rider in the professional peloton has earned his right to make a "selfish" move it's our Andriy Grivko. I know Andriy well after many seasons here and he wants to go out with a Grand Tour win for the team."

Following a press issue sent out yesterday, Team B&O has succesfully extended all of their rider contracts for an additional year.
There is however doubts as to the continued presence of German puncheur Domenik Klemme, who on several occasions has expressed his desire to return to Continental racing.
The renewals resulted in a minor reduction of team captain Pluchkin's wage, while Guldhammer and Keinath both are expected to fill out bigger roles next season with increases in both their basic wages.
The full overview can be found on page 1.

Nice jersey and nice to see you are sticking around your Danish based core of your team.
However, is there any chance Martin Hacecky or Juraj Sagan could be available for a transfer? Becherovka - Kiwibank manager would be really happy, if there would be a chance to bring in even one of them.

Hacecký is very unlikely to leave. Offers on Sagan is an important helper for the team, but could leave.

Swedbank - PEAB would just want to say thank you for taking care off Nikola Aistrup last season and help him developed among the strongest riders.
We are also happy with having the talented Magnus Cort Nielsen in our team last season who even did get us a stage win.

No problem, pleasure to have him back! Did Nielsen win a stage? I must have missed it

Zakkari Dempster signs with Team B&O
Team B&O has made a great addition to their TTT squad for 2014 with the signing of Australian Time Trial Specialist, Zakkari Dempster.
Dempster comes from the disbanded Team Hollister and so continues his career at ProTour level with the Danish team. We have recieved the following statement from niconico:
"Dempster will be a great addition to our team. He comes from the track and is a specialist against the clock. Like last season there are some crucial TTTs in the ProTour stage races. This season in races like Tour de France, Paris-Nice and Tour de Suisse. All races where we want a good result, and it will be Dempster leading our team in those stages. We are very pleased to have him here."
