Damn Gesink, all the time yousit there good, and at the final moment, you missed it..
and Poels surprised me, made the day a bit better. Too bad that he got overtaken by Gilbert, who sprinted great tbh, closed a large gap after that corner
Great race. Saw the last 5 kilometres which were pretty exciting cause i didn't expected the favourites to attack again.
I can't see tomorrow's stage which sucks. I hope that Gesink will fail once again and Basso or Nibali shows what they're up to. I think that Basso or Scarponi will win tomorrow
Nibali will win overall i suppose i front of riders like Scarponi, Evans and Basso. Much more exciting than Paris - Nice which sucked really, really hard. I am really disappointed.
Yeah, Paris-Nice really sucked and Wilier don't worry, Gesink is young, he has a lot of years forcoming. Interesting to see if Cadel can finally win his second World Tour stage race after that tour of romandie back in 2006.
PS: I think the final itt suits gilbert very well, it's like a prologue lenght.
Hmhmm Gesink looked bad. Looked good, until the final 3 corners before the climb, he lost 20 positions and started the climb from way back again.
He really should stop doing that if he ever actually wants to win something bigger than the Tour of Oman or the GP Montreal
Very dissapointed at the moment...if he was beaten by the best, ok, but that group was 10/12 men big, he should have been capable of hanging on.
Not good.
Final win for Evans now unless he fucks up tomorrow
I don't hink we shall blame his positions abilities again. I just don't think he was strong enough today.
I guess that tomorrow will suit him much more than just 500 meter, steep climb. He doesn't have the punch for these finishes. A 5 kilometre climb will be much better for him and i'll suppose he'll end up as 4-5 tomorrow
It's just Tirenno anyway, I guess he doesn't really care (of course every one always likes to win). His first objectives are probably the Ardennes classics. Still a little more than one month left to peak. No need to worry.

Gesink is Gesink. He always cares no matter which race.
That's what's cool about him.

Ofcourse, but even Gesink has form differences, he is clearly not 100%. But it's cool he tries to win anyway. However, bad positioning doesn't help, definately when you aren't good enough.
Looking on the bright side I'm amazed about the progress Wout Poels has made this year. He's still only 23 years old. Dutch cycling seems rise up again.

Yes, but we've been saying that for 5 years now. And still, there hasn't been a big classic won. The last prestigious win was in 2007 when Dekker won Romandie.
Arguably you could say Emilia or Montreal by Gesink, but even that is not something huge yet.
They all have talent, but the big races are always for someone else. So they are simply not good enough yet, and I wonder if they ever will be.

Why so pessimistic? Netherlands to have a bunch of worthy material. Anyway, I'm jealous
Why? There's nothing to be jealous off, the years of big Dutch success are of the past. And they're only good enough to win 1.1, 2.1 and sometimes a smaller or new World Tour race... hurray.
