By the way.....I feel pretty sure that Contador will say that he didn't know that Schleck had mechanical problems, he just thought he cracked.... |

Heh. Since Schleck went to the front of his group, the gap is steady.
Contador and Schleck are extremely evenly matched.

Game, set, match, Contador. Curse that chain for removing any remaining battle.

It's better to win ugly than lose beautifully.

I don't like Schleck, but that was a crappy move by Contador. He can win the Tour on the road in a fair and square battle, not by taking advantage of a mech.

*Crosses fingers for Contador crashing and Sánchez or Menchov winning the Tour*
That would be awesome

What a joke. |

What an overrated gap. Vino closed it, for christ sake. Contador would have crushed Andy anyway.

This is fine, now Contador will be known as the guy who only won the Tour because of a scumbag move when the yellow jersey had an accident.
If Contador wins here he'll have 5 grand tour wins.
One was because Rasmussen got kicked out of the 2007 tour, one was because Schleck dropped his chain, and one was when Leipheimer was stronger than him, and lost to him by 46 seconds which was only bonus time (Leipheimer worked as a domestique for him as well during that race).
Besides the 08 Giro and 09 Tour, Contador arguably doesn't deserve most of his GT wins. The Leipheimer thing and the Rasmussen one were in the same Tour (2007).
In 2009 Contador won against his own team. |

Andy was right then, he's the best climber. You just can't win when you have an accident and your opponent doesn't have any sportmanship.
I lost all respect for Contador today. |

If this had happened to Armstrong in 2005, you can be sure that everyone would have waited.
This is a sucky finish to an exciting GC battle.
