Tour de France 2010: Stage 1 Rotterdam - Bruxelles
Deadpool
Great finish.

My thoughts:

1) Crash was not Cav's fault. He got pushed out to the left around the corner by another rider coming through, but on a right turn it is the responsibility of the rider on the left to account for it and move over for him as he did for the guy coming on his (Cav) inside.

2) Farrar got really unlucky, he didn't crash, but the Ag2r rider's bike got caught in his and he dragged it.

3) Good sprint by Pettachi, not very encouraging finish by Hushovd.

I love Cavendish, causing a crash once again. First crash was his fault. He pushes against the Lampre guy and then tries to continue but has bad luck himself that Freire rode against his wheel.

Not his fault.

See my post above, it wasn't his.

ARe you sure??

it looked a heck of a lot like a Cervélo guy. Whoever it was, it was ridiculous. Deliberate attempt to throw the guy to the floor, and it backfired.

But I'm almost sure it was a Cervélo guy.....at least it was a very white-ish jersey and immediately afterwards there was a Cervélo guy on the floor next to the Lampre guy that had been pushed

I'm going to rewatch the final 4km or so later then.

But after 6 hours or whatever watching that, i need a TDF break.

I agree with you.Wink The Farrar, incident didn't help Rojas who could have got maybe a 5th place though.

It's Cavendish.
And @Deadpool, didn't see a guy hindering Cav.

Edit: And there isn't even anyone near Cavendish at his right side.
@ Issoisso: If you watch the replay and see who leaves after the crash you can find out it was Cav.

Maybe guys like Ciolek, Freire and Cavendish lost already the green jersey. Especially Cavendish because the other two will be able to get some points after a more difficult stage.
On the other hand, maybe next stage it`s completely upside down, but we won`t hope for it.

Yep, Tour podium girls.
Not quite as good as the Giro, but still good.

Anyone else got the awesome versus commercial?

I think Pettachi jumped at the perfect time to win (right as the last crash happened). The guys like Thor behind hesitated after the last crash, may have got tagged and lost some momentum, then were too late to jump on Renshaw's wheel. Anyway, the best positioned the whole time was Pettachi, he seemed like the most confident there and never hesitated like everyone else, similar to the Tour de Suisse crash.

Which one?

Because their main one sucks.

Dunno, it was a few seconds ago. The tour is the only time Versus is televised in Canada.

Even I, the Cavendish non-lover, didn't see Cav causing that crash.

And Petacchi, regardless of his competition in this sprint, he looked scarily strong.

Thomas in 15th another great ride by him amid a chaotic sprint.

Petacchi clearly has the pace - and if not for the fact that Cavendish and Farrar missed out today, youd already have to think that it will be tough for Hushovd. If today is an indicator, the fact he couldnt beat Renshaw could mean that even if he can pick points up in intermediate sprints, he will lose too much at the finish. Can Petacchi mount a serious challenge for Green?

Farrar was unlucky, and hopefully has come out of it fine.

Cavendish? Could do with a few more replays, but it looked awfully like a Columbia rider leaning across onto another rider at the right hand turn - have to see if Deadpool is right about somebody inside Cavendish.
