Sorry but I don`t have enough time for such a big project.

At least until April this won`t become better because of my University exams and practical work.

UPDATE

Berlin Pro Race 2011 (half fantasy) on top of first post.

As there are now New Zealand DEM files (love this country after living and worked there for some months), I consider to make a race there.

Either the "Powernet Tour of Southland", a 9 day stage race with mostly flat stages, which was part of the UCI Oceania or a fantasy stage race with a mix of flat and mountain stage.

You can post, what you prefer. No matter which one it will probably last some time, as I am still in my exams and also ave to do practical work in whole March. Wink

How about... Both ? Wink

Personally Id prefer the realistic Southland option - but I can understand the appeal of going for a route with Mountains

Agree with SN, why ? It would suit Henderson in my career Grin

being a Kiwi id prefer the proper route and maybe have like another download were they climb like mount cook?

This is great, roturn Smile I'm working on some races for Australia at the moment, so I would love to see some New Zealand-races to come Smile Tour of Southland sounds great, as it's a real race.. but a nice fantasy would be fine with me, too.. if no other people will make the Wellington Tour/Trust House Cycle Classic, I will make this one.

I think I'm gonna get back into stage making this weekend as the Daily db still hasn't been released. I'll probably do the Tour de Hokkaido or a race in South Korea, but I'm getting way off topic...

...I like the realistic race, and then maybe just create two fantasy stages (with mountains) which people who prefer could switch out with 2 of the stages from the real tour if you were to make two fantasy stages for example, by making the two fantasy stages with the same file name as the two you'd be replacing. Just ask if you don't understand, or just plain hate the idea. Pfft

Thanks for the responses Grin

So I will start the Soutland Tour when I am back home.
The biggest reason for the fantasy tour was that I would make stages, where I have been and lived.
I`ve never been to the Southland region as almost only part of NZ, so it`s a bit less interesting for me.

But the idea to create the real route plus some mountains as "variant" sounds great.

My plan at the moment: Southland Tour, then more and more single stages and then there are 2 different NZ stageraces, one original for sprinters and one fantasy for climbers/puncheurs.

@Craig: I already planned a NZ fantasy tour with PCM09, Start Auckland/Hamilton towards Hawkes Bay to start some flat stages around the vineyards (Hastings,Napier).
Then going South to Wellington, start in Blenheim-Nelson, going further South, Arthur`s Pass over the mountains towards Christchurch.
Should be about 7-9 stages with 1TT, 5 flat stages and 2-3 mountain/hilly stages.
But I will also definitely make a stage to Mt.Cook, Tongariro and also to Mt.Egmont.
Lord of the rings coming back in PCM Grin

I am back home and started with the Tour of Southland. I now created around 20 gpx in NZ, so you can expect some more NZ feeling later.

Next coming

Don`t be afraid of the hilly profiles. Compare with they height on the left and you see, most stages are totally flat.
Also it`s not possible in PCM to have stages in November and 2 on 1 day. So best date would probably in Octobre and as 9 stage race.

First 3 stages finished.
1: TTT. 2 laps around the park. Same road used, wasn`t possible with 2 parallel roads without errors
2: Short stage with final on the steep Bluff Hill (~9%)
3: Flat sprinter stage

Testing appreciated. Wink

Will update the first post as soon as all 9 stages are finished.

Tour of Southland finished. Download in first post.

Enjoy.

Next one will be Tour du Haut Var 2011.
If somebody is already doing this one, pls shout loud now Grin

2011 routes might be more interesting than a fantasy NZ Tour. But as I already have some gpx files, this will also come by time.
