Damn Rojas just dodged that crash. He might have pulled off a 3rd if h hadn't given up. Assuming that was Rojas.

So is this not almost as bad as what Theo Bos did to Impey?

You can't compare them in my opinion. In one incident Bos's arm comes off the handles and looks as if he pulls Impey down with him although I doubt he would do something so horrid while Cavendish merely moved over out of his 'lane' and took out others. It didn't appear as flagrant as the Impey incident.

in my country, there is a saying:
don't mix frogs with grandmothers.
Cavendish was just stupid, not necessarily malicious towards anyone. Theo Bos was a douche.

It reminds me that I turned up to a race once, and we were told by the organisers (as two seperate races lined up), that the crap group were, under no circumstances, to attempt to switch or change your racing line rapidly. The elite race, on the other hand, were free to do what we liked to try and cause carnage, as we were more "experienced".
Experienced at what? Racing badly?
But I digress, shit crash eh?

I would usually defend cavendish, but seriously, WTF?
You can't even begin to argue that he kept his line, the video footage is quite conclusive.
Just hope he's OK for the tour.

Stupid crash. I reckon dangerous riding could do with a ban of some sort or removal from a race. Something that makes people think a bit.
But then again, whenever it's down to a comissaires judgement they're gonna get it wrong and there are gonna be arguments.

It's nowhere near as bad. Cavendish was in deep trouble when he almost swung across half the road width to begin his sprint. He was moving back into the position he had before, which was wrong.
Bos grabed Impey's jersey and threw him down, which is wrong but more deliberate.
A night of watching cycling live, i'm now here dicussing cycling further in a sprint i only saw the last 500m of.

I never defended Bos or even implied that Cavendish's blocking was anywhere as bad

Also, as i've seen on various forums (where most posters are idiots) - Cavendish will not have gone "oh i know, i'll go cause a mass crash today".
If he did think that, a trip to the mental institute is in order.

I am sorry for starting this debate and just leaving. I thought that there may have been a parallel. Both Bos and Cav did some wreckless stupid riding with severe injuries to other riders as a result. And no, the Theo Bos incident was not intentional.

Exchange Cavendish with Bos...
This has been discussed to death in other threads. Sory to bring it up again.
