If you can even suggest that Bos can develop well enough to win the Olympic RR, then i be damned if Breschle cant win it either.

apparently the UCI have backtracked and decided not to include the new Omnium at the worlds in Copenhagen, instead going for the original omnium
At the 2010 Worlds:
5 events
200m Flying TT
Points Race (Men 15km, Women 10km)
Scratch Race (Men 7.5km, Women 5km)
Individual Pursuit (Men 3km, Women 2km)
Time Trial (Men 1km, Women 500m)
At the 2012 Olympics (and 2011 worlds)
6 events
Flying Lap (250m)
Points Race (men 30km, Women 20km)
Individual Pursuit (men 4km, Women 3km)
Scratch Race (men 15km, Women 10km)
Time Trial (Men 1km, Women 500m)
Elimination Race.

A strong GB team with Cavendish at the head of that, plus a british crowd who do scream and shout and make walls of sound.
So.. good luck to em'
I was joking but... Sure Cav the favourite. But if Bos could develop into a Cav like sprinter. I don't see why not. With riders like Boom, Langeveld, Van Hummel(?) the Dutch should have a strong team as well.
When Bos has made a good result in a 200+ km race lets start the talking, untill then I'll state that he can't last the 250 km in the olympics.

Weird to change it this late.
Anyway, on the subject: Are any Danes going? I'll be there on Thursday (men's scratch and keirin) and Saturday (men's madison). Should be a lot of fun. |

Yes, now there's only 2 UCI omnium's before the 2012 olympics, they are only raced at world championships.
I know GB are hitting the current format omnium hard in Copenhagen to try and begin getting used to racing it.

It's a progressive country and I think if it was going to happen anywhere it could well be in the Netherlands or perhaps at the Tour of California? I just fucking hate GroenLinks. And hate to see people suddenly taking them seriously and even naming them as 'the Dutch'

Great-Britain aside (there are many other teams as strong as or way stronger than GB, aside from Cavendish), I don't think T.Bos (or his brother) have it in them.
But London is in 2012. That's 2 years, there can happen a lot in 2 years.
And in Olympic races the weirdest shit always happens. You can never predict these things.
Ofcourse there are favorites. But you don't win races on paper. And you can't really say anything about the supposed strength of a team in 2012, when it's 2010 now. So I really suggest we put all the predictions for 2012 in the freezer until it's actually 2012, mkay? |

It happens to every country though, the media likes to brand randomers as "The whatevers". If one of our minor politians said something a random news agency would say "The British". Just the way it works.
But it is incredibly stupid.
EDIT: Zomegan by the way has said that there will be podium girls, and they will be Italian, not selected by that dutch TV show.

I like how you transform that to 'The Dutch'. Nice to know 1 guy from Groenlinks (left wing party) suddenly is the representative for the entire Dutch train of thought?
OH NOES! Equality, no, we can't have that can we. |

So the HGH test announced a year and a half ago is finally ready and it nabbed the first guy. A british rugby player.
So, now it's time for WADA to make an announcement
WADA Statement on First Worldwide Human Growth Hormone Case
Feb 22, 2010
Following the announcement by UK Anti-Doping of the first completed case involving an analytical finding for human growth hormone (hGH), WADA issued the following statement from its Director General David Howman:
This first completed case involving an analytical finding for human growth hormone (hGH) is a positive step in the global fight against doping in sport.
It sends a strong message to those athletes who take the risk to misuse hGH that we will ultimately catch them. WADA and the anti-doping community have committed significant resources to the development of detection means for hGH.
I suggest to cheaters to keep in mind that the World Anti-Doping Code makes it possible to open a disciplinary proceeding within eight years from the date an anti-doping rule violation occurred, and that stored samples can be reanalyzed.
Please do that.

You do know they are offering a token athlete from another sport, before they bust 20+ cyclists for all this.
I hope to god not.... |

They wouldn't bother doing that, but this positive still doesn't show that the test is effective against the micro-doping type stuff cyclists do.

They won't do that. They'd have to ban so many people that the whole WADA budget would be wasted only in the procedures. |
