the worst ive faced was a 20% hill for a mile long that they had the national hill climb TT on after 4 hours of riding. It was between me and a warm shower so i had to go over it, my that hurt...and was slow... To be honest, i can climb better then most, but not nearly well enough to contest races ending on hills (well not for the win anyway), im more an all rounder. So its more a case of getting over the hills just to get to the finish and hope i can last longer and better then 65 other people to get points B) If you love climbing that much, enter some nice hilly TTs or races. There are plenty around unfortunately!

The one i was on about is about 2.2 km long i think of course its not 22% all the way up, think it slowly drops to 6% at 0.8 km

Antone use a Power Meter. I am trying to decide if it would be a good investment. My first choice would obviously be CycleOps but the website doesn't show prices

You see smoothie here in california we have these things called hills. Not just little speedbumps but 10+ mile climbs and even Mountains Cadence doesn't work all that great in hills
Being able to comunicate power outputs to coaches and teamates can be important and interesting, not to mention my last bike computer broke, literally clean off the bike. I went over 1 to many cow grates at high speed

Yes where i live we dont have many long hills but lots of Short sharp buggers its even harder to get your cadence up on them. But i suppose when youve got to compare power output to teammates you need something like CycleOps. |

Ive been doing some fun Dissertation studies for guys at uni recently. did the last one today its good fun to see power outputs, especially when you hit 575 watts after a 30minute TT in 32 degree heat (if only for 20seconds) averaged a measly 250watts for the 30minutes, so wasnt too bad i suppose.... just need to find another 100 watts from somewhere by the end of the year!

I went out riding this morning and to begin with it was looking good. I was feeling quite good. The wind however was starting to pick up I was climbing great and i set a PB on one climb. On the decent of the climb however the wind randomly blew side ways and it ended my up in a bush :x The bush was pretty destroyed Im ok just a bit stiff |

I got back and it was the greatest thing ever. The crit was amzaing wiht all the pros that sowed up(and since I have connections I was chillin with my teamates in the Shimano are right n fron the the startline) and got some great pics of the call-up riders and some really good race shots. Some stars showed up including Chris Horner Awesome pics of horner smiling as he pts on the hurt against his breakaway buddies then the 3 guys in the break of 9 lapped the field and the others got swallowed up. Alejandro Borrajo won ahead of Horner and BJ-M. On the rr Eric Wohlberg won solo from the begining of the last lap. ahead of BJ-M and Anabal Borrajao.
As for the Team and I, we took 9in the crit)second in the Juniors 15-16 and 4th in the 17/18 in the Hardest and fastest race i have ever done. Don't ask how I did cause I don't even know. in the RR i did the 4 and one of my tamates did the 3. The important thing is I finished but the pack got so strung out when the wind kicked up and teams hit the front that I I got caught in a back group and rode the rest of the race with a few guys I know. My teamate in the 3's was top 30 out of 120 (which is good considering both of us were in our highest gears and were spinning)My coach doing her first pro race in a long time took 4th in the Pro Womens race and my former teamate/roomate-for-the-weekend took 16th in only her 7th race (she won her first)
The hotel arrangments were interesting and the hotel manager was a dickhead(long story short we paid for 1 adult and 1 child but smuggled in 2 kids and he got all anal about it, though he never caught us:lol So two tiny beds, 2 sixteen year old dudes and an eighteen year old woman? bow chika wow wow)
Plus we had dinner with BMC last night at an Italian resturaunt that took FOREVER to get us food I thought I ordered pasta but I got a fucking salad (hmm, perhaps thats why i bonked 5 k's to go) and while we were waiting my coach was giving Scotty a hard time first about his contacts (scotty lost a contact in the crit, it was funny watching him) then about his former girlfriend which culminated in scotty balling up his napkin and chucking it at her the best aprt was after our food came he asked for it back and I partially choked on my salad at that point. I was sitting Between Gavin Chilcott and Scotty so they were cracking up and it was just a great time even though my salad sucked balls.
And I talked with fast Freddy Rahsahn Bahati Chris Horner, Ben jauques-Maynes and Aaron Olson learning that Rock acing guys are not the assholes they are made out to be.
