Alberto Fernández de la Puebla denies that he has doped (déjà vu?) and says that he'll retire if he finally get a ban.
Goodbye Alberto |

Rasmussen very likely to join Footen-Servetto and therefore also riding Tour de France 2010. As Prudhomme said, the 16 sixteen protour teams are guaranteed participation...
He got 2 years for not even a positive test and he got punished equally to proven dopers, so of course he should be welcome after his ban.
Only those who have a bit intelligence understand the unfairness of the whole rasmussen case, so I don't expect all you guys to agree.
---
Schleck vs Contador vs Rasmussen in the mountains? Would be fun and totally unpredictable.

he didn't follow the rules. and the rules say : if a riders forgets to report in his location 3 times ( don't know for sure the number of times), that it equals one positive doping test.
rules are the rules, they shouldn't be bended for any rider.
im happy he'll ride the tdf though

He only got 2 official whereabouts warnings from UCI. The same amount as Thor Hushovd also had back in those days. No matter what, he has served his ban and should be welcome like any other rider.

There's no chance in hell that Michael Rasmussen will ever get to ride the Tour again.
Footon-Servetto might be allowed back in the Tour, but if they bring MR, they'll be in trouble and possibly lose their 'guaranteed' entrance.
Fair or not, it's not going to happen. |

Oh, and in way more interesting teams: ELK has decided to withdraw its sponsorship of ELK-Haus. Therefore, the team has now closed and won't exist in 2010. |

If Footon is a Danish company they will do the PR of the year in Denmark if they get Rasmussen in the team. |

Why? For me it seems like it's going to be more and more "okay", for ex-dopers to participate in the Tour? I guess Vinokourov could participate as well? |

Footon-Servetto already got the ticket from ASO. Rasmussen or not, they will be there.

This is what will happen. Prudhomme will tell them to not bring Rasmussen, and either a) they oblige, or b) they don't, and Prudhomme pulls the wildcard.
Its that simple |

Prudhomme can't pull the wildcard for several reasons. In the court Footen Servetto will win, just like they did with Vuelta a Espana 2009. Rasmussen served his ban, therefore there is no juridical reason to withdraw the obligated Tour access from the team. In order to do that they have win the the case in CAS (eg. like 08), and that's for sure not going to happen again.
Footen-Servetto will be in TdF 2010. ASO can't do anything about it, they signed a deal with them in September 08. |
