With 1538 points, Andy Schleck outscored Cunego's Giro total, and he goes top of the standings thanks to his previous tally from Catalunya. Ricco and Cunego slip to 2nd and 3rd while now 4th is a former leader and the 2nd best points scorer from the Vuelta. With 682 points - its Bennati. Meanwhile, Rigoberto Uran is up to 9th and Luis Leon Sanchez 10th. Plaza (16th) and Abal (17th) have also made it into the Top 20.
But what of the other podium placers here? It was Intxausti's first race, and 599pts puts him 28th, Not Gomez Marchante's first, but 399 pts is certainly his best, and he is 30th.

Guess which team scored the most? Domina Vacanza of course, but behind them it was another 1k-pointer for La Gazetta. Crucially at the other end of the ProTour table, bottom team Eurosport placed 4th in the Vuelta. Are they still bottom?

La Gazzetta dello Sport still lead by just over 1000pts, but there is a new 2nd place. Domina Vacanze have shot up 6 places, and are now close to 500pts ahead of the 3rd placed team.

500 pts separated 3rd-7th, who are pretty much the same teams as in those positions as previously, just with a couple of positional changes: Wikipedia, Rabobank, Festina, Lipton, Accumalux.

A gap of 250 pts to 8th, who are Virgin Media - up 5 spots and the only new entry into the Top 10. Theres just 700pts separating 8th and 15th now, so the positions are far from decided. White Bear and Sic Radical hold on to Top 10 spots with Credit Lyonnais and Unicef each up 3 to 11th and 12th respectively. This in turn means that Philips, Warner Brothers, and B&O each drop down 3.

Another gap now from 15th to 16th - just over 500pts to the 3 teams battling to avoid the 2 relegation spots. And Eurosport are now longer bottom! American Suzuki remain in the coveted 16th spot, but are less than 100 pts ahead of Eurosport, leaving British Airways now with the most work to do.

That was a really bad Vuelta. I had expected to be around the 5th most scoring team with 2 guys around top 10, with one safely within top 7 and the other around 13-15th. None of those goals were achieved with 9th and 17th. Not really too happy. Hopefully Contador will be great in the Tour, otherwise I have really really mistimes my schedule, and should've put him in the Vuelta instead, where a top 5 would've been given.
